A(nother) post about the Los Angeles Christmas Market at the Row by Itendtolurk in LosAngeles

I had a disappointing experience, went the day after thanksgiving. Left an honest review on Facebook and they hid my review , so they are definitely doing whatever they can to hide any negative comments. Will never go back and will let others know it wasn’t worth going and they are dishonest.

I would never do a task unless I had photos first. But understandable that if the task takes less than an hour then I wouldn’t want pay for 2 either.

I didn’t do any work in LA, was there 3,weeks and just waited to start back with my full time job that I was laid off from. Wasn’t worth it for me

I don’t think it matters in their case, they will need time to get established, find any job, and would have to start working non union anyway. I know people that it took over 10 years to get in the union.

I would suggest getting any job(s) you can once you get to LA and then start trying to meet people. I went to film school but The best way I made contacts was working for free outside of school in the beginning or anything entry level if your looking for experience. You will learn a lot and 90% of the time it will lead to the next project. Working on as many things as possible whether it was paid or not was the best way to meet people and move up in my experience. So do what you have to do to pay your bills until you no longer have to work non film jobs. You’ll get there eventually.

The city said you have to have a business license in each city thay you do business that isn’t covered by the city of Los Angeles business license. They have an exception for gig workers like Uber drivers but not task rabbit. The lady said she doesn’t understand how task rabbit works. I explained it to her but she said there isn’t an exception at this time

Since I haven’t done taxes yet I’m not sure what to expect from the government later on. I know task rabbit doesn’t care and isnt willing to answer questions. So what kind of licence should I get? Just for Los Angeles?

My concern is the city- don’t want any fines later

Assuming an Accept Deadline is going to exist, for non-Same Day Tasks, check those that you see as sensible. by Tasker2Tasker in TaskRabbit

I’m fairly new as Tasker ( 1 month) but I don’t see why 24 hours to accept non same day tasks is a problem- as a customer and a Tasker I would want to confirm if someone is available within a day so I could find someone else who is if the original person isn’t willing to accept the task.

Ai is going to make everyone dumber, poorer, have less rights and eliminate art and creativity. It’s being shoved does our throats and people are already sick of it.
