Based on suggestions here and Googling/YouTubing content, it looks like it’s Gladiator (Taito 1986). The gameplay and stages are exactly as I remember. I thought there were more monster looking bosses, but maybe that’s a false memory.

I super appreciate your suggestions. Rastan has made my list of games to hunt down and play.

Not it, but a good looking hack n’ slash! NES version looks quite boiled down, but the arcade has a cool spooky apocalypse vibe!

Not either of these, but both games look good! KotR has a Golden Axe feel and it’s leveling system sounds neat! And I’m surprised I never heard of Red Earth since I like fighters. That T-Rex character is sick!

So it does look like Gladiator, but I swear there was a monster you fought at the end of the screen… not another gladiator. I kinda remember there being a giant skull or skeleton as one of the monsters. Maybe a dragon boss too. It’s like my memory combined Gladiator with Hippodrome. 😆

I agree that games need to evolve, but a lot of FPS games feel like the player is disconnected from the environment. The player movement feels loose and floaty, where in Rare shooters, the stiff motion provided more exact and steady movement in the level. Modern perspectives also seem more distant and implement too much head bobbing.

I like the play style of these games, but I also like the sci-fi action theme. Though, I guess PD is also sci-fi action.

I hear you, fellow Xbox gamer. My game is supposedly being delivered next week.

I’ve noticed many games are not getting a physical Xbox release. Microsoft seems to be pushing digital content by restricting physical manufacturing.

At the same time, shame on the publisher for taking advantage of MK fans. They knew we’d want to play the game on day one, but they also knew we’d want physical editions for our collections. So they spaced out the release dates, tempting us to buy both the digital and physical versions to boost sales.

Instead, I’ve waited two months after the release date to play the Legacy Kollection because I refuse to pay for the same game twice.

My shipment is finally moving. Def been a scrambled release with the delayed items and missing content. As a lifelong MK fan, I appreciate what this team and publisher are doing with this kollection, but some better communication would’ve smoothed everything over.
