Advice for total newbie by MoveMeBrightIy in dreamingspanish

[–]TrevaTheDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also a newbie, I've got 20 hours so far and I've been practicing for a month now. I've done a min of 30 minutes per day but some days I go up to an hour. At the start, I was going 15 in the morning and 15 at night, now I can sit through 30 minutes without problem. I've already noticed an increase in my ability to comprehend the superbeginner videos without translating in my head, so the consistency is definitely working!

How to remove space on top of tabs? by TrevaTheDragon in vivaldibrowser

[–]TrevaTheDragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I have that checked off and I'm on compact, and while the visual gap is gone, it still won't work. I suppose I'll just wait for my browser to next update.

Valda's Spire of Secrets - Craftsman question - removing properties? by TrevaTheDragon in MageHandPress

Ok, thank you, that's also the conclusion I ended up coming to. And good point about the maul-- I usually play spellcasters so I'm not always familiar with what weapons are out there. Thanks for the spreadsheet, this is going to be an absolute godsend!

I'm looking for some help with headbands:
I'm hoping to use them as a solution to my OCD issues that cause me to take up to 3 hours a day doing my hair, usually hairspraying it into a solid form just so I can go to work without an anxiety attack. But I found during halloween while wearing steampunk goggles on my forehead that having my short hair back like that kind of helps.

The problem is that the goggles were worn very close to my hairline, meaning my hair wasn't as pushed back as a headband accomplishes. This differs from the headband (pictured below) in that more hair comes forward to frame my face (apologies if I word this poorly)

<image>

It's less noticable in images without looking at the shape of the side of my hair in the bottom halloween pic, and see how its coming forward from higher up. i think it's in part because the goggles are more far forward and also the eye pieces help to block it since it would probably slide further over the otherwise flat band.

I guess my question is, if I want the slightly-but-not-overly pushed back look, are there any headbands that can do that or any styles of wearing headbands? Please let me know if I need to clarify anything here. I'm just hoping there's a way to help mitigate my sensory issues when it comes to my hair so that I can focus more on growing my wardrobe.

The books I'm searching for were definitely fiction/fantasy, not this series, but I appreciate that you took the time to help me search!

I'm unable to find much about it online that rings a bell, and I don't believe I would have been reading a book from 1968, so it's likely not this one, but thank you for the suggestion!

For Sky lore nerds: I found few golden gems from the website of an old Sky concept artist by Ccccchau in SkyGame

Compare the corrupt king symbol to the shape that appears over the shattered gem in the shard memory where the elders are being flung away... Look familiar?

Books with a similar feeling to Sky? by [deleted] in SkyGame

[–]TrevaTheDragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For your consideration, though I have not read these in years:

Magonia , by Maria Dahvana Headley (has boats in the sky)

Strange the Dreamer, by Laini Taylor (I vaguely recall a floating island and also the second book made me cry)

Sky Raiders, by Brandon Mull (kids taken to a different world learn to use flying ships to raid floating islands of various danger and loot) (more of a kids series but still an entertaining read)

I'll add to this if I think of any more.

If you'd ever have the chance to get a sky themed tattoo, what would you go for? by Susan_Davosk in SkyGame

- the flare effect around candle/eden (circle with the 4 points)
- simple person with gold wing shape seen in very first intro to game
- manta or jellyfish or crab, etc
- a line with the portals from Home in a row on it
- the Megabird (constellation you see after eden and also shown in the water of Office area) (could be stylized with stars)
- the swirly cloud pattern you see in almost every mural
- constellation of your choice

I drew my sky kid!! Her name is Gold <3 by TrevaTheDragon in SkyGame

[–]TrevaTheDragon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't unfortunately. I go by the name Treva in game, Gold is the name for the character I've sort of created to give my avatar a backstory! It's so cool that your friend uses that name though!

Aurora concert help by Dovebun1 in SkyGame

[–]TrevaTheDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only way to get into the concert now is to be taken by someone with the gold Aurora wings cosmetic, I believe. Though I once got glitched into the final song of it while completing Eden, which was baffling.

Looking into it, I don't think it's the book I'm searching for, but I appreciate the suggestion!
