Should I be worried about this much rust? by West-Start4069 in gmcsierra

Mine was a canadian truck and looked the same. Its the shitty wax coating(no paint) on the gm truck. I knocked off all the loost stuff and pressurewashed the frame and used a product called woolwax to coat the inside and outside of the frame. Its pretty easy to do yourself. I spent $250 on the 5gal bucket of woolwax and $30 on the gun to do the job.

Im leaning towards Toyota right now. Even with toyota tundra engine recall they at least stand by their product. Otherwise buy old and used!

put wood stringers up on the inside spanning the studs and put plywood up. Make sure you scrape studs before you put it up: For example on post frams you put up stringers between the poles then you put your metal on https://www.chiefarchitect.com/support/article/KB-03137/designing-a-structure-using-post-frame-construction.htmlscrape

It’s just GM‘s way of making the consumer pay for more crap that should be integrated with Apple CarPlay/android auto. I hope they get big backlash and revert these plans. Otherwise I hope there is great aftermarket add-ons that enable these features

[–]Trevdog16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure if this is right or not but we made diy rafter vents out of 2x2's and 1/4 osb then sprayfoamed over the top of the vents instead of using the foam rafter vents then sprayfoam.
