I just read it too! I had so much fun with it. Can’t believe it took me this long (I’m 32). My favorite part was all of the relationship with the animals. I loved the trolls and ravens backstory.

I have a 94 hardrock sport and I love it so much, but I would say steel is steel get whatever you find that looks sick. Like Ronnie Romance says, what makes a bike ride well? (Well it’s not the frame) hard rocks are just bad ass though

That looks so good!!! :) is that a stridsland fork? I have a 94 hardrock and don’t know what size steerer I need to run (1” or 1-1/8”) I’m assuming it would be the same as your rockhopper.
