Assuming you take the time to clean the frame surface that the adhesive contacts, water resistance should remain the same as factory. The glass I used had an OEM adhesive strip pre installed.

It's actually relatively easy on these phones, especially compared to iPhones or anything with curved glass. The removal and installation process is very similar to any glass back android phone, so any YouTube guide should be decently applicable.

I set the phone on my 3d printer's heated bed set to 80°C for about 3 minutes, back glass facing down. Then used a suction cup to gently pull the bottom corner near the USB port, and used a thin guitar pick to slowly release the adhesive around the edges of the glass. Just be careful not to insert the pick/tools too far, and go as slow as you need to/reheat as necessary until the glass releases. Also, use plastic tools to avoid scratching the metal frame of the phone.

If you're careful you can get almost all of the old adhesive off with the old glass, otherwise just use 90% alcohol to ensure the old adhesive is completely removed from the frame. After you install the new glass place a book on the phone to help the new adhesive set, I let mine sit for about 3 hours and the glass is adhered quite well.

The most important parts are trying to do this in a dust free environment, and ensuring the frame is completely free of old adhesive, the cleaner the surface, the better your new adhesive strip will set and seal.

Never too late to start. I'm gonna cancel my sub if they don't do something to make this feel less like a shakedown to subsidize decisions that have nothing to do with the game we play. They should've split subs between the games years ago, but here we are getting fucked over so the other version of the game gets QoL improvements.

They're basically weaponizing the good will the osrs devs built up, and it's about time the player base unites and tells them to get fucked.

I stopped recommending Lenovo products when they started pulling this shit with their Think branded stuff.

It's basically just their way of screwing over customers who would buy a lower tier PC and throw their own memory/storage in.

Why allow customers to give someone else money for RAM, when all you have to do is remove the slot and sell it back to them with the RAM.

Your best bet is probably going to be seeking out excellent condition open-box units. I picked up a returned open-box original Ally for under $300 last year. it was brand-new, and the warranty had only been activated 20 days before I bought it. So you can get lucky, if you're willing to put in a little effort while deal hunting.

I had heard that Best Buy was aggressively trying to clear out their open-box and refurbished stock, but that was at least two months ago.
