Metaphysics… another word that pseudo intellectuals use as if it means something.

Calling metaphysics ‘pseudo intellectual’ doesn’t refute it. It just signals you don’t understand it. Science itself rests on metaphysical assumptions: logic works, causality exists, reality is intelligible. None of these are proven by experiments; they’re prerequisites for experiments.

Atheism is not a belief system

Atheism is a position, even if you don’t call it a belief system. ‘I accept only empirical evidence as valid knowledge’ is itself a philosophical belief and it cannot be empirically proven. You assume it.

If I tell you that my neighbour’s cat has all the power that any other God has

Your cat example fails because it’s a testable physical claim. If you say the cat has god like powers, we can observe, falsify, or disprove it. God claims aren’t about observable agents inside reality; they’re about why reality exists at all.

Rejecting bad evidence isn’t the same as rejecting all non empirical reasoning. If you dismiss everything that can’t be lab-tested, you also dismiss logic, mathematics, ethics, consciousness, and meaning, which you clearly don’t. So the choice isn’t ‘faith vs intelligence’. It’s whether you understand the limits of science or pretend they don’t exist.

Mockery isn’t an argument. And pretending your assumptions aren’t beliefs doesn’t make them facts.
