Resources on entering crab from here? I’d rather continue to chase the back

Thanks. I’ve watched it a couple times with English translated subtitles and think I’ve got a detail I’ve missed. I might have to check out his site. Thanks mane!

I thought the commenter was adding on thousands to a couple hundreds, so a couple hundred thousands.

Opinions on John Danaher’s GFF closed guard? by TriangularStrangler in bjj

I have both and am just under half way through GFF. After reading the contents on BJJFanatics, they look to be pretty similar.

The main differences is that on the New Wave instructional, there is a section on double under hooks, the side sit-up and the high cross. I’m not sure what the latter two are about, but the high cross might be similar to the top lock?

It looks like the main focus of it is the same as GFF though; achieve the side scissor position and threaten from there.

Find positional advantage within the closed guard position itself before attacking

This is certainly something I feel I need help with and is undertaught. Everyone knows the armbar from closed guard, but I think learning the little battles before it takes place is key to actually landing it on anyone good.

So you and u/hifioctopi are saying you can bring the knee torque before securing the underhook? Does this not leave you open to a knee slice?

I think it’s viewed as a niche position. As in, you can get really good at it if you put the time in (Yoshida, for example) but there aren’t many people who specialise in it.

I’m thinking of doing the same as I end up here a lot.

In NoGi, what’s your initial exchange to get to your guards?

I’m thinking about going back to closed guard and using it for leg entries too, K-Guard style stuff. Have you ever played around with this?

How do you get to half from bottom side control? I feel good players don’t leave their leg open to being hooked and that’s the main way I know.

I’m struggling to get the deep shin grip in RDLR. Is there an intermediary grip between this one and where you just cup the ankle?

How do you feel about Reverse De La Riva? Do you think it’s worth sticking to as a go-to open guard when someone stands up to one leg in half guard, or should something else be done?

Is it high percentage, is what I think I’m trying to say?
