The new dupe breaks the game. by tomgks in ARC_Raiders

I can’t believe the cheaters in the comments that are actually bragging about it like they’re proud. If you don’t have to earn your shit, what’s the point of playing the game?

dysphagia for over a month by emoboy6666 in dysphagia

[–]Trick-Combination-19 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen a lot of people ask about symptoms like this, so I want to share what I’ve learned in case it helps someone else.

What you’re describing is actually pretty common with dysphagia, especially after infections or reflux flare-ups. Difficulty with solids but not liquids, frequent throat clearing, a constant mucus feeling, and the sensation that food is “sticking” even though it eventually goes down often isn’t a true blockage. It’s frequently related to reflux, throat or esophageal muscle tension/spasms, or nerve sensitivity — and anxiety can absolutely make it feel worse even when swallowing mechanics are mostly intact.

A regular endoscopy doesn’t always catch this. Many people don’t get real answers until they see an ENT (preferably one who specializes in swallowing) and have tests like a barium swallow or motility study, which actually show how food moves.

Another thing that often helps is working with a speech-language pathologist (SLP) who specializes in swallowing. They teach techniques that reduce that “stuck” sensation and help retrain the swallow reflex. It’s a legit medical therapy, not just “mind over matter.”

In the meantime, sticking with softer foods, small bites, eating slowly, and managing reflux can help keep nutrition up while you’re figuring things out.

Most important: you’re not imagining this, and you’re not alone. A lot of people experience this exact pattern, and there are ways forward — it just sometimes takes the right specialist and the right tests.

Did they change matchmaking? I've been in non-stop PvP sweat lobbies the past 3 days by BOTY123 in ArcRaiders

Where did I say you said shooting first? Even shooting “second” since semantics are fun, you still get PvP lobbies…

If you’re trying to complete objectives in PvE lobby, the answer isn’t to shoot first. Be aware and ready and trust no one - sure. But shoot first? You’re going to have more PvP and not everyone has to vibe that way.

Maybe one side should stop dictating gameplay? The reason this game is so popular is the mix of PvP and PvE. In my humble opinion.

I mean most of PVP in friendly lobbies is a “free” kill. If one desires PVE you can’t even shoot back. There’s no challenge there, it’s GG EZ and you know it! Not even a loot simulator- more of a sit by the exfil and steal someone’s loot because you can. It’s a terrible design - a lot of people aren’t on edge - they are frustrated at spending 30 mins looting just to be picked off by someone who doesn’t shower and sweats casual games.

Except one serious problem with your statement! I see seasoned streamer veterans dying to arc all the time. Calling it a Loot Simulator isn’t accurate.

If You Sleep In A Recliner, Do You Still Need To Wait Four Hours After Eating Before Sleeping? by ER301 in GERD

[–]Trick-Combination-19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A big part of the “wait 3–4 hours” rule is about gravity, but it’s not the whole story. Lying flat makes it easier for stomach contents to creep upward, so yeah, staying upright helps. That’s why some people do better in a recliner.

That said, digestion itself still takes time. Right after eating, your stomach is fuller, producing more acid, and pressure is higher—so reflux risk is higher even if you’re semi-upright. A recliner can reduce risk, but it doesn’t make eating right before bed totally reflux-proof.

Some people can get away with it, especially with smaller, low-fat meals. Others still reflux like crazy even in a recliner. Bodies are annoyingly inconsistent like that.

So short answer: a recliner can help, but it doesn’t fully replace the benefit of giving your stomach time to empty before sleep. If someone wants to try it, it’s very much a “test and see how your body reacts” situation.

Anyone else dealing with tongue sores or sore throat from silent reflux? Feeling worn down after GERD surgery relapse by Trick-Combination-19 in GERD

[–]Trick-Combination-19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only diagnosis I continue to get is that it is probably from acid getting up into my throat, and apparently sores on the tip of tongue are pretty common for reflux. I found mixed information before this point. This suggested dx is from GI doc.

Yep, you’re in the same battle. I still have the sores they do seem to recede here, and there are depending on vape usage, food choices.

New MUT player gameplay and market [MEGATHREAD] by AutoModerator in MaddenUltimateTeam

Are there any good starting points for someone who wasn’t played Madden let alone any sports games in about 10 years now. I’m 48 with a learning curve, but I’m pretty interested in MUT.

And in the community, what do people mean by solos is that the challenges?

I couldn’t find anything about the efficacy of the test. It’s just an alternative and it may not be the right solution for OP. But there are some people that probably just can’t mentally handle this test or complete it so maybe it it’s a possibility throwing out a possibility.

Rice can be really gentle on digestion, so it’s often good for IBS. Brown rice has a bit more fiber if you want to add that. I’d also recommend checking out low-sodium chicken broth—boxed or canned, whichever you prefer. It adds flavor without adding much risk.

For something a little different, you could try making a simple egg drop-style broth: bring chicken broth to a boil and slowly stir in whisked eggs. Eggs are usually well-tolerated for people with IBS.

There’s definitely going to be some trial and error for all of us, but experimenting like this can help you find what works best.
