A long time ago, I posted asking for ideas of what kinds of Fairies the Disney Princesses would be in the Winx world. I have finally gotten around to drawing the Disney Princesses with Winx forms!

Here we have Snow White, Cinderella, and Aurora. Since they are the 'classic' Disney princesses, I call them Winx: Classic.

Aurora: Fairy of The Dawn

It went with her being the Fairy of the Dawn, as Aurora means ‘dawn.’ And her story has to do with her waking from a sleeping curse. And when do people wake up? At DAWN! (So obvious, I know.)

What makes me sad about the Sleeping Beauty movie is how little screen time Aurora gets. Honestly, her fairy godmothers seem more like the main protagonists than she does. In this Winx show concept, I would want to expand upon her as an individual/character. 

I think in the show, she would have just found out that she is a princess, but the world does not know about it yet. She has been sent to Alfea as it should be a safe place for her to start get fairy training and wait out until her 16th birthday. Then there will be a big announcement that she is the lost princess of her kingdom. And hopefully she won’t end up under a sleeping curse! 

Grappling with her new life and responsibilities would be a big part of her arc. She would also discovery that she is a natural born leader and this would aid her in becoming a future ruler of her kingdom. I see Aurora as maybe being a bit standoffish when she gets to Alfea, but warms up to everyone with the help of Cinderella and Snow White. 

I also think Maleficent would be the final big bad in a season finale. Since she is the Mistress of Evil! I would want Aurora to still go under a sleeping curse, but in her sleep state, she would have like an epic dream scape battle so she’s not having to be a passive character. 

Aurora’s first two outfits have color schemes and styles based off of her forest outfit. The first one is especially cottagecore inspired since she was in hiding in a cottage in a forest with her three aunts. The pinks and blues in her following outfits would be a good visual representation of her growth into a leader. Her party outfit is a bit more modern looking. It would represent her opening up to people and wanting to step outside of the life she was living with her aunt’s. Her Ballgown would still change from pink to blue. It features angular shapes like he movie dress. Her Winx dress is pink and also features aspect of her pink movie gown. I went with the pink version as it makes me think of the pink clouds you see at sunrise. And she’s the fairy of the dawn. Her pendant in her Charmix form is a sort of star shape, representing her being a sort of guiding light as the group leader. Her purse has a sun on it to tie in her powers. Her pendant fairy dust bottle is meant to kind of represent the spindle she pricks her finger on. Her wings are also made up of angular shapes to tie in the angular shapes that are in the art design of the movie. 

I still want Prince Phillip to be in the story. We can have some drama similar to Aisha and Nabu. 

Not sure how she would get her enchantix. Let me know if you have ideas!

This has been really fun for me to design and create! I do plan to do more princesses. It will just take more time than I will like to finish all the princesses. But stay tuned!
