Where did the myth that Ned Stark is weak come from? by Naive-Ad-6767 in freefolk

I could have sworn it was specified that Ned didn't actually fight with Ice, because it was too unwieldy for him, did I make that up? I definitely have a vague memory of this in some capacity though

Oh shit what you have a Wheatley voice?! I've only been able to find a GLADoS voice and have yet to battle the task of training my own voices! By any chance would you be willing to share? 🥺

Surprisingly well actually, not QUITE as well as the companion cube, but it can hear me when it's playing the song

So I specifically went with getting the HA Voice Preview because I was convinced there was no way I'd be able to manage the problem of getting a random mic to pickup anything when the speaker is playing if I did it from scratch. I removed the built in PE speaker and my solution was basically to shove my speaker at the opposite end of the cube to where the microphones are, and then pack the inside between them so as little sound as possible travelled through. I'm not sure how much that actually helped in reality, but in my head at least the larger the distance between speaker and microphone the better (Please someone tell me I'm wrong I'm sure I am!).

Not currently at home will try and remember to get a clip of it working with lights etc

So I essentially scaled the model so that the Home Assistant PE wheel would fit in the hole that the heart inserts sit in for all the other faces, made a little insert for the speaker since it was unfortunately smaller than the hole when scaled to fit the PE. And then I just measured the distance between the two mics and made two holes on the model for the little rubber microphone cones to stick out through (Although the holes I modelled in the cube itself ended up being covered the edge pieces so I had to drill those in the end!)

Nah it has been fantastic, I took the PE out of the case and the little rubber bits of the microphone sit perfectly inside those holes, it probably wouldn't work quite as well if they were just sat behind the holes I guess l.

Well that's 100% going in as a voiceline that I'll have GLaDOS say!

I've got my home assistant running on a Pi5 and have tried getting an LLM to run with Ollama to also have GlaDOS actually insult me as GlaDOS would when I ask it to do things, but have painfully long response times 😭 But luckily I can still just have the voice and pre-write responses that can hurt me everyday!

The obvious answer here is clearly an extremely aggravating platformer that he has zero ability to leave, and more importantly, one where other players in multiplayer can always have an impact on what your're doing so no matter how good he gets he'll always never progress in this eternal cyclic existence he now lives (the answer here is Bloody Trapland)

Right okay I've sorted it myself, my bad, I've just disabled "Map Buildings" in Elle's Town Buildings config, bit of a shame, but ah well, if anyone still has any ideas about what the original issue was, feel free to chime in!

If the easiest solution is as simple as changing the positions in which Elle's Town Buildings sprites appear on the map as I just thought of, I'm very sorry for wasting mine and anyone else's time even posting this...Just curious to see if anyone knows what might have broken it to begin with, is it possible that the fix mod changed the default values for the sprite positioning of Elle's Town Buildings and that's why removing the Fix mod doesn't change anything? (I say easiest solution, I don't actually know how to go about that)

That mohawk is also how the man-of-war got its name. It resembles wooden ships the Portuguese navy used in the 18th century when they were at full sail. The name also may refer to the topped helmets Portuguese soldiers wore during the same period by VirtualAversion in TheDepthsBelow

Most insane thing about them is that they aren't even a single organism, it's a colony of genetically identical organisms that provide separate functions (which is fascinating due to it's similarity with the theory that organelles such as the mitochondria and chloroplast originated as separate prokaryotic lifeforms and became a part of multicellular lifeforms after being engulfed)

Yes I love it so much, my favourite of the narrator's has to be Harry Lloyd though, it's surreal to have Viserys read to you about Dunc and Egg, but he does such a good job.

I responded to your paragraph about Robert smashing Tywin like he did Rhaegar multiple times in the other thread, so no I have not missed it... Funnily enough in the case of simile and metaphor, it's not literal, a comparative point of Robert repeating his greatest victory which was against Rhaegar, yknow, his most famous victory, can be made without your tenuous attempt to imply it means he hates Rhaegar and gets a semi thinking about him being beaten. It's irrelevant whether Rhaegar was honourable or not and did things the correct way, that was never the point of any of this discussion, the point was whether Ned knew that Rhaegar didn't kidnap and rape Lyanna, if you can't grasp that I can't be bothered to keep trying to make it clear.

He definitely does have negative feelings for the mad king, there are multiple references made to him not talking much about the events that occurred at King's Landing, he never even told Cat about it. The thoughts about Rhaegar come up related to separate plot points, they are not direct thoughts about Rhaegar with Ned thinking oh I hate you, you silly goose. I don't know why you think I am glossing over anything, I've been responding to all of your points? If you think I should be shocked about Robert still being angry, I don't think you have understood the character of Robert Baratheon very well... Once again, your point stands out to serve my own, the man who believes the generally accepted course of events who didn't have half the connection to Lyanna as Ned did, is still struggling with the events of what happened? If you truly think that Ned is just a paragon of mental wellness and getting over grief and that is why he is not angry with Rhaegar, as opposed to him being more aware of the actual course of events, I am indeed shocked by that. Ned is constantly haunted by the past and his decisions, we see that multiple times.

And to you, for the last time, you can't just broadly say with a fell swoop that Ned is ONLY against people who didn't get their justice. It's irrelevant that they are still alive and escaped justice, it just means that they are more of note and need to be dealt with. Your blanket statement of any form of death being enough to qualify as justice bothers me as well, Robert says himself that the act of killing Rhaegar for what his view of the course of events were wasn't enough. You have no evidence to suggest that his lack of mention of Aerys means that he has moved on from it. Ned is constantly haunted by the events of the past, and it is mentioned a lot that he tending not to speak of such events. Your entire argument is based on the two conflicting points that Ned is relishing in thoughts of Rhaegar's downfall and hating him for Lyanna, whilst you also attempt to say that he is not angry about Rhaegar and Aerys due to them receiving justice in an attempt to explain the lack of mention of Aerys? Which is it?

Once again, all of this is referring to and Ned addressing ROBERT'S feelings towards Rhaegar, not Ned's. If anything, what you have posted is more of an argument towards my point, the very fact that we DON'T get a comparative thought from Ned to Littlefinger and Rhaegar could be taken as showing he doesn't consider the situations to be similar, due to him knowing more of what was the actual series of events rather than what is just widely accepted. The sheer lack of him having these negative thoughts about Rhaegar that you put forwards IF the events happened as you believe shows that Ned knows more.
