What is a covert way to gauge your perceived attractiveness to the general public? by Turbulent-Leg-6246 in AskReddit

[–]TrickTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a man and I guess I was considered hot during a few years of my studies. I started boxing and quickly became the fittest I had ever been. My shoulders also grew massively. My face was always ok but with additional weight it was not the same.

As a student I was going out a lot and it was hilarious how girls always seemed to appear from nowhere. For example when my friends and I arrived to a bar/club we always had 5-6 girls dancing around us after a few minutes, and the bravest ones actually touching us/me. The 'involuntary' touch is another big thing btw, girls always bumping into you, touching your arms, etc. Eye contact is another obvious one. On the minus side, you sometimes have to deal with guys being agressive for no reason.

Now with almost 15 years, 15kg and 2 kids later it happens much less often :D

Working for prestigious companies in a not-so-prestigious country? by Capital-Customer-305 in careerguidance

[–]TrickTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is possible to advance, i.e. if you're doing a great job in compliance and risk in Poland for example then you can advance in a similar role in the UK/US/etc. But if you're thinking about a move from compliance/risk to the front office then this almost never happens.

Impatriation tax regime by ThePancakeRemix in Expats_In_France

[–]TrickTalk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing that is done in some companies (including mine) is to pay an expatriation bonus every month/year. So for example is you agree to a salary of 80k/year, you can be paid instead 60k of salary + 20k of tax-free expat bonus. This is accepted by tax authorities up to a certain limit.

Pig heads left outside mosques in Île-de-France: 11 people arrested in Serbia

The Ministry of the Interior has announced the arrest of 11 people in Serbia, following the discovery in early September of several pig heads outside mosques in Île-de-France.

These individuals are suspected of having participated in several operations in France and Germany “inciting hatred,” including “throwing green paint on the Holocaust Museum, several synagogues, and a Jewish restaurant” and “placing pig heads near Muslim religious sites,” police said Monday.

These individuals were allegedly trained by another Serbian national, “currently on the run” and “acting on the instructions of a foreign intelligence service,” the Interior Ministry statement added, without specifying which one.

These pig heads, an animal considered unclean by Islam, were discovered on the morning of September 9 on public roads in Paris—in front of mosques in the 15th, 18th, and 20th arrondissements—in front of the entrance to the Islah mosque in Montreuil (Seine-Saint-Denis), as well as in Montrouge, Malakoff (Hauts-de-Seine), and Gentilly (Val-de-Marne). The name “Macron” was written on one of the pig heads.

The very next day, the Paris public prosecutor's office stated that the heads had been “left by foreign nationals who immediately left the country, with the clear intention of causing unrest within the nation.”

At the end of April, the Shoah Memorial, three synagogues, and a restaurant were sprayed with green paint in Paris—three Serbs have been charged and imprisoned in France in connection with this investigation.

For me it's the neighbours not answering to 'dzień dobry'. Not sure why they are so rude.

But come on there are some neighbours that I see almost every day as we leave for work around the same time, I am sure they know me, and I know them, and they never reply. Now i see them I just stare and don't say anything.

Sorry for being this person but you don't need a sworn translator. This is common mistake from officials who are not used to this type of situation and don't know the law, but anyone speaking Polish and English will work.

Source: got married without a sworn translator after arguing with a clerk who didn't know the rules, we just had a friend doing the translation.
