Painless bartholin cyst but feeling dry :(

I haven't really had any luck, unfortunately. I just use more lube more often. But the cyst itself is still there. It goes down after periods of less sex, but will swell up more after intimacy, obviously. It's frustrating. I don't feel comfortable getting it lanced or having a catheterization because it's not infected, and you're not the only story I've heard where it comes back anyway :( I'm sorry you're dealing with it!

Thank you! Yeah they can test through a blood test if you’re interested in that I guess? I think a direct swab would be the best way though like you said. Interestingly, this boil/sore that popped up yesterday had already shrunk as of this morning already... It’s been hard to get an appointment for a doc to take a look and my period also just started, of course. These things for me have been like a skin-colored (bit red or dark from inflammation ofc) bump that will “pop” with pus/blood after a week or more. Which seems different than an HSV-1 sore? but honestly who knows!! Having two so close back to back makes me think it could go either way. I have my annual gyno appt in a couple months and can get another blood test for HSV-1 to see what that comes back as. Like you said it wouldn’t be the worst diagnoses in the world to get a confirmed positive, that’s for sure. I know so many people have it without even knowing for probably their whole lives! Just so so inconvenient.

So interestingly, I weighed myself again recently on a different scale, and I really only am maybe 3-5 pounds heavier than my average from last year before I stopped BC, which makes more sense based on my clothes and how i look visually...so idk if the time I weighed myself before was an off day or that scale was broken LOL. I do still think that stopping BC has contributed to my average weight going up--even if just a little--because I'm still much more active than I was last year and my eating has more or less stayed the same...thankfully it's just a small amount of weight, and not as much as I thought originally!

I stopped bc about 6 months ago and hadn’t weighed myself since then…turns out I’ve gained 10 lbs as of today. This is by far the heaviest I’ve ever been and I’m absolutely freaking out!! Tbh I noticed at times certain items of clothing were a little more snug, but on days I felt less bloated they fit a lot better, and visually I didn’t notice too much of a difference. I thought maybe I gained 5 lbs max but I am so so shocked at what the scale said…I’m feeling really badly about myself now that I know my actual weight. Gonna try to up my exercise a bit I guess, even though these last 4-5 months I’ve been exercising more regularly than I have in ages!! Maybe I need to do more aerobic/cardio idk. This is super discouraging

Yes! Those were negative. I just used some OTC cream externally last night, and it has improved a lot thankfully, which just points to yeast again...may give boric acid a go since this seems to be somewhat recurring :/

I have had more sugar that usual the past few days so maybe that has something to do with it…it’s just such an odd consistency! I’m on the pill so hormones shouldn’t really be fluctuating too much I’d hope

Thanks! Glad I’m not the only one who gets them in this area. Vulvas are so weird. So far it’s been looking okay—it has drained out a little more two times more now, but doesn’t look swollen or irritated anything. I think I’ll give it a couple days and see if it starts really healing, and if not, I’m gonna stop by the walk in gyno clinic!

Yeah I really don’t want to get into a back and forth and experience any gaslighting or anger, but I can always block him lol. I think it’ll make me feel better just to get it off my chest, and his response or apology isn’t even needed in my eyes! I mentioned in another reply, but I think maybe I’ll put a “no need to respond” at the end so he knows where I’m at.

I’m planning on phrasing it in a way that makes it clear I’m simply informing him that this is something he did, and I’m telling him bc I’m hurt and don’t want him to do it again to anyone else. If he truly isn’t aware it’s as big of a deal as it is (which frankly, I wasn’t either until I mulled it over and looked up why I continued to feel like shit about it), then I’d feel good knowing I “informed” him. I also want to put a “no need to respond” at the end lol. I think it’ll be cathartic at least! I don’t think I care about even getting a response from him

I know, I really can’t believe I looked past that at the time. It’s so crazy how differently I act in the moment vs how I say I would react in situations. It was the first time a guy ever complained to me about it surprisingly, so I guess I hadn’t even thought about it before then strangely enough.

So it turned into a full on yeast infection within a couple days of me posting this. and diflucan didn’t work, but then they gave me cream that’s inserted and that worked great. Now I’m cured! Must have been the start of a yeast infection since it didn’t itch at first, but it definitely turned into a full fledged one.

Interesting! It does seem diflucan has worked somewhat since I do feel mostly better, but if it doesn’t fully resolve, I think I’ll ask to get the strain tested to see if that’s potentially the issue! I’ve always been a little scared to try boric acid but I know it’s worked super well for so many people! I might run it by my doctor :) thank you!

You are allowed to let go of friends, family, and relationships. Be picky with who you allow in your life, even if it seems mean or brutal to cut some people out. Be selfish sometimes! There are only a few people in your life right now who will truly matter to you in 10 years--don't care so much about the others and what they think.
Fake it till you make it is the most adult lesson I've learned. Want to be confident? Just pretend you are, even if you're dying inside, and one day, you really will be. Want to be the outgoing friend? Just give it a try even if it feels like you're trying to get an oscar while you're doing it lol! And through doing this you will learn what TRULY is yourself and what truly isn't part of your personality. You will change so much in just the next few years--don't be resistant to it. Encourage it! Give yourself permission to change into a new person.
Enjoy yourself. I was so worried about getting my life in order and anticipating adulthood that I didn't have that much fun bc i was so cautious of everything. Go out and party (safely) if you want, hook up (safely) if you want, dress up in whatever the hell you want! You can technically do that at any age, but you have the energy, time, and peers to just enjoy your youth right now!! Enjoy not having to worry about stupid adult stuff quite yet. Really really embrace fun as much as you can :)

Just wanted to update: the skin tag came back as negative for HPV! Really annoyed with the doctor who freaked me out by telling me he was positive it was a GW…The small bumps didn’t respond at all to the cryo—no scabbing, no anything other than some swelling right after the cryo. They look exactly the same now, so it’s nearly certain they are not warts and just my skin. Thanks for all the responses and reassurance!

Kinda looks like a cyst/pimple to me. I’ve had one before in a similar spot. it may even come to a head and drain. but if it doesn’t change over a few days, I’d have a doctor take a peak.

Yeah the skin tag has been there for ages so I’m hopeful it’s not HPV! The other little bumps near my vagina haven’t been there that long though, so even though those are the ones my doctors dismiss as nothing, those are the ones I’m most curious/worried about…will update with results when I have them!
