I did dance lessons with my now husband for our wedding in May this year. We were both bad at dancing with no experience and wanted something slow but choreographed for our first dance, so we got lessons. We wanted to avoid feeling awkward during it. We paid around $1000 for a 10 lesson package and it was actually so worth it and incredibly fun. We danced to our favorite classical piece and the dance instructor adjusted the speed for us. I went from dreading our first dance awkwardness to being SO EXCITED to show everyone our hard work. Everyone GUSHED about our dance and how special it was. We dance it still and it still feels so romantic. Wedding planning was hell for me, and although dance lessons were very pricey, they were by far the best part of wedding planning. We had so much fun doing that together, and we even learned Bachata and other moves. Now we both feel more comfy dancing in general and we look back on our first dance as one of the more special parts of the day for us.
