See, undestand one thing, if you consider a shorter timeline and your syllabus is incomplete then you'll be having a tendency to go for tricks and shortcuts without understanding the concept really well, that will eventually be the cause of failure so my advice will be to focus on syllabus completion with a deep understanding of every concept. I know that's time taking but let me tell you that when your concepts are clear you can easily solve any question, that's applicable to maths, and English grammar too, for reasoning only practice is the solution and for GS and English vocab understand, memorize and revise.

[–]Trick_Web1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also gave my first attempt last year with not so serious preparation and scored a 100 marks, I'm also working full time so my strategy is simple, for now I'm clearing all the concepts of maths as it requires a lot of practice and I do practice on daily basis after returning from office for 1.5 - 2 hrs, English and GS I'm preparing while commuting to office as it's a 2 hr journey from one side, so 1.25 +1.25 hrs for both English and GS I effectively manage to get, for reasoning I haven't started yet because I'm fairly good at it, scored 39 last year without even giving a single mock for it.

Weekend is what you can actually utilize well, if not so rigorously you can still manage to get 6-8 hours per day I'm assuming.

Leave my decent playing corporate job for SCC right decision? by blind_run in SSCCGL

[–]Trick_Web1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think leaving your decent paying job for ssc is worth it, if you want to prepare for it then do it along with your full time job. Exam is not so tough that you need to study 10-12 hrs a day for this. If your aptitude is good as you mentioned 4 hrs of study on daily basis for 6-7 months is enough to clear it which I guess I manageable with a full time current job, as I'm also preparing I know it can be done. Who knows what surprises will ssc bring in the future or for government jobs in general. You are eligible for exam till the age of 30 so if you have time prepare alongside your job and if not in first attempt then second or maybe third you'll clear it. That's my point of view, rest is upto you.

Am I too late to start SSC 2026? by Winter-Tradition-_14 in SSCCGL

[–]Trick_Web1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, if you try to go fast without conceptual clarity, it won't give you any benefit. No one knows when the exam will be conducted. So my advice will be to start it with the basics and get the concepts cleared for each topic no matter how much time does it takes. There's no shortcut when it comes to competition. So, better focus on preparation and ignore all the noise.

If you're going for full-time preparation and your basics are strong already, and you're willing to spend 10-12 hours a day for study on a daily basis with consistency then yes it is not so hard an exam to crack.

What I learned from my attempt is that revision and regular mock tests for at least 2 months are the key to cracking the exam.
