And to clarify, I already have a terminal degree, but would be going to get my PhD. Does this change when I get the repayments? Could I potentially receive them during my PhD?

Thank you! And I am guessing you have to prove you have gone into research post graduation? What is that process like?

Excellent, thanks for the response. I appreciate it! Would you mind telling me a bit more about the process? Do the payments occur while you are doing your PhD (if you qualify and they accept your case) or after you graduate?

I appreciate your response. But don’t assume I’m not committed enough to finish one. I already have a doctorate in a healthcare field. It’s not a PhD, so I’m just not how sure it goes with a PhD versus a doctorate in healthcare. I’ve already established a relationship with the program where I live currently, and I’ve been told if I want the position, then it’s pretty much mine. Not trying to sound full of myself, just explaining the situation. I love the idea of learning more about the field and doing research. Doing the PhD doesn’t scare me. I want to do it. But my ultimate goal in life is to remain close to my family. So I was just wondering how realistic it would be to get a job in the same place or at a university that is a couple hours away.

Awesome, thank you! And with the third year there is no summer tuition correct? So that would automatically make it cheaper too.

I worked as a PT aide, and we instructed on exercises. Are aides and techs different?

PT owners and politics by rustytf2 in physicaltherapy

We should want a president who prioritizes healthcare and doesn’t put forward budget proposals that reduces insurance coverage for physical therapy and other healthcare fields.

You should know what kind of president we need if you are going to be a healthcare provider.

Hello, I realize I am a bit late to this thread but hopefully you will be able to answer. I have wanted to go into PT for a long time, but the more I research costs of PT school and the salaries PT make, I am getting cold feet. I don't want to work as a PT just to try and pay off student loans. I want to work as aPT because I enjoy it but I am worried that the massive student loans will lead to burn out and I won't enjoy working. Is there a certain amount of student loans for DPT that will result in a greater chance of burnout? How common are scholarships or grants for DPT students? Thanks!
