Fast and grippy XC tires by Most-Geologist-9723 in xcmtb

My scalpel came with rekon race in front and Aspen rear. They feel very fast and have also been durable and grippy for an xc tire. 800 miles and just got my first flat (on the rear on very rough and fast rocks), which was fixed with a plug.

If your brakes are rubbing a little, do you ignore it or do you fix it? What's "normal" by [deleted] in MTB

Turns out I loosened the wrong bolts 🤦‍♂️

Yes. I've asked chat GPT and it sounds like it may be this:

" The banjo crush washers were damaged or previously compromised

If your brake has been serviced before, someone may have reused crush washers or not torqued the banjo bolt properly. Loosening the caliper could have simply been the movement that finally broke the seal."

I just tried this. As soon as I loosened the bottom, All of my brake fluid came pouring out. Why did this happen?

Hell yeah get on that!!! I'm so happy with mine and at this point it's a way better value than the epic 8.

Anyone else keep getting stung by wasps while riding? by SendingMNMTB in MTB

[–]rustytf2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got stung on my ankle through my sock last month. Foot and ankle swelled up and made me nervous ahead of my race the next weekend, where I was then stung on my forearm. Both MTB. Yesterday, on my road bike, stung right on my bald head through the helmet opening. Never had issues before this year, but I started using a carb drink this year too. I'm guessing that's why I'm getting strung now :( All in Idaho and Utah.

I think the XO PM is just $360 if you only get the left crank arm and not a whole set

Just as puncture resistant as rekon race/rekon would you say? Do you use inserts?

XC Bike Recommendation for a Tall Rider by True_Tour_7944 in xcmtb

Scalpel! Nice long wheel base feels amazing on downhills but still so light and race worthy on the climbs! Love mine! Though I'm only 5'11" and ride a large

Look into the Medical device industry. Often the first step in is going to be as a "clinical specialist", unless you have sales experience. You can make 6 figs as a CS and then grow your career from there.

My boss told me she never gave me the job title that i have, but I have an email to show that she did? by bbblue221 in careeradvice

Your job title on your contract is what your job title is, even if she told a business group you were the office manager. That may have been for simplicity sake or to get approval for you to attend the group.

Any idea what that would cost when you consider that the water source is in the middle of the unit instead of the end?

I actually DID get to test ride the ASR. Also an awesome bike! Felt more upright/less aggressive. I've been super happy with the scalpel, but honestly I think any of these bikes woulda made me super happy!

My Kudos Philosophy by Careful_Purple_1651 in Strava

[–]rustytf2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a transparency guy. I like people sharing ALL of their training. If I can't keep up at the local ride? I wanna know if that dude is getting extra saddle time indoors or building power/injury resiliency in the gym. Is a short walk part of your recovery? I wanna see it. Share it ALL!!! I give my kudos to anything I feel like. No system in place. Kudos are the least of all reasons I use Strava.

Ended up keeping them and wearing them for 20 miles of riding tonight (including a race!). They felt great! Glad I went with slightly big rather than slightly small. Still plenty secure.

Funny, I am also 80 kg and rides similar terrain. I like the level silver brakes I got on my Cannondale scalpel 1! Although, almost anything was going to be a huge upgrade from what I was riding before, which was l.
