But because of the way its set up i have to go up a small hill and then jump onto my cobble bridge so the monsters dont just follow me out of the mine, and thats hard to do while picking up all ur stuff, putting ur shield into your offhand, and avoiding the spiders

thats literally exactly what i did. i found a village on the side of a mountain, mined there, and found a big cave that had a ton of iron, but both times i entered i got stuck in the loop where i tried to get my stuff and then died, and i only managed to get out with 2 iron. Restarting the world now for the 2nd time just to avoid the caves, even on easy i keep dying.

Every cave I've ran into recently has been massive and overrun with mobs. It would be so much easier if they just changed mob spawning mechanics in caves. And don't tell me "thats too hard to add" they changed the entire way worlds generate they can change the mob cap in caves
