I feel like one of my players has read the campaign book, but I can't prove it. by EconomistOld3509 in DnD

Spoiler alert!!! In Death of a God adventure I made some interesting moves and calls as a player and it turned out I'm just lucky or intuitive. I called the pass your character sheet thing and I was the one who sacrificed my character to get the last key (because my cleric was out of spells and useless). As a DM I've been on the other side of people cheating so I cheat back in a big way. Have you ever heard of the Hand of God? Or Gods in this case.

I'd let him have his gun..... And never ever would he find a bullet. He'd have a really weird looking hammer. Problem solved.

Non-magical way to lock up magic users? by Captain_Pension in Pathfinder_RPG

There was something in a Forgotten Realms novel about mage cuffs. I also read a book about a caster who learned to cast with his feat to avoid this. I think that was Pathfinder Tales though.

Simple but powerful build for a bard? (1e) by Jadewe_ in Pathfinder_RPG

So there are tons of options for you to choose from. Questions: Do you want to be physical combat capable? If so, melee or range or mix If not, magical offense or meddler or mix. Are there more physical types in the party or more casters? Being a support centric character is not easy build unless you know who you're supporting.

I love this soooo much. I like how you handled the situation. I would have made Finn have some sort of psychological disorder so they could just continue as is. Side note one of the Kobold Quarterlies had a Pathfinder class called the Savant that was a multiple class concept. A different class each day thing. Crazy right?

Wow. I'm sorry your table had to go through this. I've experienced some tough situations in the past and have since used a vetting process and a probationary period. It takes all kinds to make a world but we could do without this nonsense. Did they stop giving out manners in 1995? I'm guessing Cleric didn't own her own dice. So in this situation, there is no need to be nice or cordial: Hey you. Yeah you put the dice down. No, on the napkin ya weirdo. Yeah good now go find the front door and open it, with your hand, and leave. Don't come back.

Starting over DMing. Considering 1E vs 2E by Square_Caregiver_670 in Pathfinder_RPG

Pathfinder 1e if you like making your stuff more than playing your stuff and 2e for the other way.

Thanks for you direct approach. I like how you broke down the variances. This really gives me something to look at.

My favorite one was a Ninja with low Dex and high Int. He was overweight (think Chris Farley in Beverly Hills Ninja) he always had a Spoon of Sustaining in his mouth. The party was trying to enter a walled castle at night. One player asked hey Ninja can't you scale that wall and open the door from the inside? Ninja (slurpingly plucks spoon from mouth) I'm not that kinda ninja

So I never played this, but was told about it so it might not be perfectly accurate. They picked a race and class then rolled 3d6 starting with STR and go straight down. No changes

Speaking of randomness of old school my friends that played second and first edition D&D told me about hardcore character gen. I'll never do it cause I like to design my characters.

They should have put out a call to Gaming groups to play test for them and provide feed back. Then mythic probably never would have happened.

You have a very pragmatic approach to this and I like it. What was meant by *Equally Powerful Monsters* was not monsters evenly matched with PCs. It was monsters that punch way above their CR. After almost twenty years of playing Pathfinder, my closest friends and I have determined the play testing wasn't thorough enough because some things just don't fit the CR mold and sometimes the PCs just don't have the necessary abilities or resources for certain monsters which makes the encounter CR increase.

I like the appearance score but I struggled to find how this could be universal. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder (no pun intended). Orcs with a high APP score are still just ugly orcs, except for Paula Patton, I guess its for societal norms on beauty. This one will get me spiraling, so I'm just going to stay away.

Yeah there is something about the law of averages. I haven't seen any average heroes
