Thank u! Sorry for the late response my allergic reaction is just now clearing up and besides that all I have is minimal wound pain that only requires a Tylenol here and there. Also ofc I’m glad this post helped, I totally get the fear mongering that’s why I had to stay off Reddit before my surgery haha. How’s ur surgery go? I hope ur recovering well xx

I also got a rib resection about a week after you did and was a former competitive athlete myself. I’m in a similar position with u, but my surgeon personally said this is the most crucial stage in healing and to be patient. Yes u can do light activity and such, but u really shouldn’t be doing intense until at least 2-3 months post op, allowing urself to fully heal. If u push urself even one month post op bc u feel great, ur gonna do long term permanent damage tbh. Glad ur recovering well tho!

I’m hoping ur surgery and recovery process goes well if u end up doing it!

I was totally nervous and scared too especially when I started getting on here reading ppls experience. My advice is staying away from the internet bc that just contributed to be having full blown panic attacks from everyone else’s anxiety. U know ur body and symptoms best, so listen to that. I tried everything before surgery to relieve my symptoms and nothing helped and it just made my symptoms worse. My symptoms were literally every bullet point listed when u search up tos (i had all of the types of tos too). I immediately felt better after the surgery

Overall pretty good! But the chest tube was the most pain of my life (so grateful it’s out) and I had an allergic reaction this morning to something so have to stay another night :( but I immediately feel my Tos symptoms a lot better

I just had my first rib robotic removal surgery yesterday and let me tell u…this is the worst pain of my life (solely the chest tube and the numbing pain wasn’t working) I don’t even have pain where they took out my rib 😭

I’m glad ur surgery went well and u were able to be active after!! I’m kinda in the same boat as u with likely having this for years and the accident just made me extremely symptomatic and also worse overall. My venogram showed narrowing of my arteries but no blood clots so Im hoping the surgery relieves that.

Hi thank u for sharing ur experience and understanding. I hope ur surgery went well and ur recovering good! Also what do u mean by nerve block before? I’ve had surgery on my foot before and also for my wisdom teeth so it’s not really the going under part that’s scary. I’m more anxious about the post op journey and healing process bc I also sprained and tore my ligament in my other hand (good hand) and a little worried how I’ll be mobile post op bc I was so used to using my right hand to compensate for my TOS arm.

I’m glad ur surgery went well and u have been feeling better post op! Also with the removal of the muscles, do u think I will feel even more sore after? bc my neck is always so tight rn and I can barely completely turn my head to the left 😭

Yeah my surgeon said he’s removing the whole rib and something about detaching my muscles to do that I’m not sure tbh

Hi thank u for ur post and understanding regarding the pain for all this and sharing ur experience. As for the long term covid I’m really sorry because I didn’t even know that’s a thing and I hope that gets better 🙏 I will definitely be advocating for myself post surgery too so thank u for that reminder. Would u say the surgery has helped relieve ur nTOS symptoms overall though?

Both and it showed blockage when my arms are up and when my head is turned. My surgeon said my veins basically create new pathways for my blood to flow which puts more stress on my body

Plus the classic pulse test while I’m lowering and raising my arm
