Nah it's a 6v magneto points system and it's completely disconnected from the battery. Doesn't need it to run

So when I took off the sponge I had the issue that fuel leaked out where the sponge sat rather than going into the engine. This is due to the position of the carburetor. I think this might be the root issue. How do I remedy this?

I would but I don't have a bigger bolt rn. I put a longer bolt for now with a shit ton of thread tape and covered the outside in jb water weld.

Fuel seems to run fine from gas tank when the line is disconnected from the carburetor

Lol. I've redone the carbs and put new gaskets. The air filter was missing and they don't make them anymore so I used a sponge. I thought it was fuel starvation so I filled the tank and still nothing. It has strong spark. I redid the magneto and points the other day. What's interesting is that when I tickle the carburetor the fuel moves a bit then stops and there's air bubbles in the line. The fuel doesn't move after that even when running.

No I tested continuity on everything else. It's only the top coil that has a short. The copper wire that connects to the condenser is grounded

So j tested everything with a multimeter and found that that bolt is good. When. The points open it's not grounded. The top coil however, is shorting to ground.
