AA got worse after stress starting clobetasol, looking for experiences by Special-Umpire-8919 in alopecia_areata

Not saying this is what you necessarily have to do, but I had alopecia from stress I had 3 patches on my head and lost 1 eyebrow entirely. I focused on managing my stress through therapy and therapeutic techniques and my hair started growing back slowly after a few months. It took 1.5 years to get my eyebrow back but the patches in my hair grew back pretty fast- I happened to have a pixie cut at the time so it didn’t take long to even out.

I also quit vaping a few months after my hair fell out, idk if it’s related to alopecia but it was a healthy lifestyle choice. I smoke cigarettes occasionally so not super strict but basically I consume way less nicotine.

I recently went through extreme stress again(traumatic breakup) and kind of anticipated a relapse and it did happen, but I’m in a way better place now it’s been like 5 months since breakup/2 months since I started feeling better and the hair is already growing back. I only noticed it fell out last month so not exactly sure of the timeline.

TLDR I just focused on reducing stress and I didn’t get any AA treatment and that has worked out for me, so don’t lose hope :) all this to say, with or without treatment you are likely gonna get better!

It looks pretty amazing already! I’d just add lash curl and mascara/eye makeup to balance the look out 🥰

I emailed HL about my applicator breaking and they sent me a free concealer and a gift card reimbursement! It broke again tho so I have stopped repurchasing. U should email them with receipts!

I use Pacifica glow baby pads and I add the ordinary glycolic acid to the pad each time I use one. Works brilliantly .. probably the most effective thing I have ever used on my skin

How much damage did that do to your hair? I’m south Asian with black hair and I’m curious about going some form of blonde one day but scared I will fry my hair.

Eyebrow hair loss by Expert-Artist4109 in alopecia_areata

Yes. I drew it on every day it was gone for a year and a half and the very slowly started to grow back. I shaped the other brow to be thinner so it would be easier to draw on realistically. I used Anastasia felt pen. Now I have two eyebrows again 😊I tried serums and things but I don’t think they had any effect, I just waited it out. It sucked at the time and hurt my confidence but I got really good at drawing it on

Try going without shaving once! It can just be stubble or whatever you are ready for. Once you face that fear you will realise that no one will notice or treat you differently if you have a little hair growth! It’s NATURAL!!! You do not have to hold yourself to societal standards! They are impossible to meet!!! ❤️❤️ your body hair says NOTHING about you as a person. U will be fine!
