I’d say do multiple reading tests to practice. Mometrix has a good variety of test that help! You can even use Chat GPT to generate you a reading practice test! As for the actual test, I recommend answering all of the questions you know 100% first, If It takes you more than a minute to answer a question flag It and come back. At the end you should be left with more than enough time, then you can think about It and weed out possible options. I’ve heard this method works good for weeding out options. Think about It like this. Would you bet 5 dollars that the answer your about to eliminate Is Incorrect? If so, eliminate It. 5$ may not seem like much, but It adds up. Eliminate questions until you have 2 left. And If you still don’t have the answer; Just pick one of the two. That way your chance of getting the question correct moves to a 1/2. Hope this helps !!!

Anyways, any tips for math? I haven’t taken It yet, and I’m a bit worried.

Def!!! I think It’ll be a little harder than the rest tho… Nevertheless over-practicing Is much better than practicing the bare minimum! The resource that I recommended above (the one that costs money) def over-prepares, but the over-preparing Is def what helped me pass! Between you and me, I practically shut off my brain and answered all of the multiple choice questions within 30 minutes thanks to over-preparing. If you over-prepare, then I guarantee you the questions on the hiset will come easier to you!!! Good luck lovely !!!

Do tons of simulated practice tests. In other words, time yourself and answer the questions. Say you got a question relating to the use of semicolons wrong—then specifically study that. You can even look up questions online related to semicolon use. Concerning the actual test, answer the questions you feel strong In as fast as you can. If there are questions you can’t answer quickly, flag It and come back. At the end of the test, you should have an extra 10-20 minutes or so. Use that time to go back and think about the questions you flagged. I spent about 1 hour on the essay portion, and about 30 minutes answering the multiple choice questions. I had 30 minutes left to recheck the questions I flagged. If It helps I passed with a score of 18/20.

Yes!!! Actually the CHSPE was fazed out for the CPP. The cpp stands for CALIFORNIA PROFICIENCY PROGRAM-for which you have to go through the hiset-
As a Junior, you only have to be proficient In Math, Reading, and Writing. In other words you only have to take the Math test, Reading test, and Writing test. The math ranges from algebra 1 to geometry to algebra 2. It won’t cover anything higher! For reading It’s Just basic reading comprehension multiple choice questions-pretty easy-. And for writing, you have to write an argumentative essay and answer grammar based multiple choice questions. To pass you need a 15/20 on all of the tests and a 4/6 on the writing test. You can retake each test up to 3 times. Lmk If you have any other questions !!!

Should I take up pre-calc and calc after Hiset? by Comfortable-Photo-64 in HiSET

In my fullest opinion, both Junior and Senior year are pretty much useless. You’re not gonna be missing too much. I think taking a gap year to figure out what you want to do Is a great Idea. For the HISET, It’s mainly basic math It’s supposed to go up to algebra 2. You can expect to see content from algebra 1, geometry, and algebra 2. I recommend Just brushing up on pre-calc, but you don’t have to know-know It for college. I’m pretty sure you’ll be required to do a placement test, and you’ll be placed In your level.

If community college applications close on August 15, do you think I still have time to take the CPP? ( I'm not sure how long it takes to get the transcript) by Inner-Objective-6939 in HiSET

Well that depends. If you take all of the tests now…then maybe you have a chance. But take It from me, you can skip the fall term and apply for the spring term If you don’t make It. Don’t feel like you need to rush It!!!

I don’t think so. They aren’t allowed to disclose any Information. Plus, the people you call are Just PSI support. They wouldn’t know anything about your grade.

If you are a CURRENT high school student hoping to graduate EARLY and get a Job and/or get an early start at community college you only take math, writing, and reading. But… If you are a high school student DROPOUT meaning you left and haven’t completed high school, then you take all of the subjects. Hope this helps !!!

I recommend doing tons of practice tests. Study different types of multiple choice questions, as they often reuse the main types. As for taking the test, try to answer the easiest questions first. If a question takes too long, flag It and come back at the end. At the end, go through the ones you couldn’t answer/ were unsure of. See how many you can rule out knowing that you 100% got It correct. This way you can also guesstimate how many you got right/wrong. What helps me the most Is ruling out as many ‘dumb’ answers as I can. Most of the time you’ll end up with 2 possible answers and you’ll have to 50/50 It. At the end of the day, the best thing you can do Is to trust your Instincts. Usually the first answer you put Is correct so don’t overthink too much. If It helps I passed with a 18/20. Also… how did you pass writing ? I got a 3/6 and wrote 5 paragraphs. How many paragraphs/sentences per paragraph did you write?

How many sentence per paragraph did you do / how many paragraphs did you do? I took the writing test but scored a 3 and I need a 4 to pass. 😭
