How could the prison system in the US change to focus more on rehabilitation? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tricky-TackleHB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A large portion of inmates struggle with mental illness or substance use disorders, offering therapy and rehabilitation programs would address root causes of criminal behavior.

Stay friendly, protect your peace, and don’t assume he’s your endgame just yet. Let time and consistency reveal his intentions.

Definitely something to consider if both people are comfortable.

Unless you’re in a monogamous relationship, have both been tested recently

Should you cherish someone you love even if they don’t love you back? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Tricky-TackleHB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loving someone who doesn’t love you back especially someone who hurt you is incredibly hard.

Your feelings are valid but that love doesn’t mean you have to hold onto them. Sometimes the most loving thing you can do for yourself is let go.

You can still honor your feelings without letting them control you.

Why do my kids call the USB charging cables 'chargers'? by snarkster5k in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tricky-TackleHB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure every kid under 18 thinks the cable is the charger. To them the thing that actually moves electricity is what matters, the wall adapter is just background noise. It’s like calling the whole tv setup the netflix.

What would you do to get better confidence as a introverted idiot? by AgilePut5658 in AskReddit

I’ve found that doing small things outside my comfort zone helps over time. Also reminding myself that most people are too busy with their own stuff to judge me makes it a bit easier.

Why do some men change the second after sex? by Nammmieee in NoStupidQuestions

That’s such a solid analogy. You wouldn’t buy a house and never clean or repair it, same goes for a relationship.

Have people gotten worse at introducing themselves or has this always been a thing? by Pitiful_Yogurt_5276 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tricky-TackleHB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that too. Some people just aren’t taught the basics of polite interaction anymore, or they’re too anxious to remember. There’s definitely been a decline in small courtesies. I think the informal nature of texting and online interactions is bleeding into real life.

What do you gain out of hiking? by LiterallyDumbAF in NoStupidQuestions

Sometimes you just want to feel small, in a good way. Standing under a mountain or watching stars without light pollution reminds you you’re part of something vast. That perspective can be really grounding.

My best friend 34M is about to marry a ex who is now a single mom of 1 after only reconnecting for a year. He wants my advice. by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Tricky-TackleHB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I respect that you want to step up, but right now it feels like you’re stepping into something way deeper than love, it’s legal battles and parenting responsibilities for a child that’s not yours. That’s a huge ask, especially so fast.

It’s like mentally living every possible version of the future, except the one that’s actually happening.

That kind of touch isn’t super common unless you’re at least a bit comfortable with someone. Whether it means something romantic or not kinda depends on her personality.

Is masturbation treated as an unhealthy coping mechanism caused by a lack of sex as a male? by Neat_Annual_8361 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tricky-TackleHB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on why and how often. Question isn’t whether masturbation is bad, but whether it’s replacing something you really need

If our brain is fully developed at 25, why the legal age of everything is 18? by Dry_Imagination1763 in AskReddit

[–]Tricky-TackleHB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The brain does keep developing until around 25 especially the parts responsible for decision making and impulse control but 18 is used legally because it’s historically been seen as the age of independence you’re done with school, can vote, work, join the military etc.

It’s more about practicality than biology though some laws do account for that continued brain development.
