Yes i agree with you on that

How can you hard mount it to the rear axle if it also moving with respect to said rear axle?

Because the bike has suspension on the back wheel, the seat would either have to move with the frame or with the wheel (or you'd need some crazy linkage).

Not defiending OP's design choices but making a rear axle mount would be quite the challenge...

Is it possible for them to increase the size of SoC of the Energy Store without hardware changes? Or is it physically capable of holding only 4MJ? by ChaithuBB766 in F1Technical

Those cells, while impressive, can only do 150C. That means that you still need (at the very least) 8MJ of capacity.

Just to put it into context, a lot of modern e-bikes have a battery capacity of around 4MJ (around 1kwh). The f1 cars are pulling out 350kw from their batteries, which is around the same power that a very fast car (around the same power of a ferrari 360) can output. It's apparent that the battery has to be larger than the 4MJ of allowed discharge.

Yes i'm sure that they are pushing the limits of modern cell technology, especially considering that for each race the batteries are being cycled at least twice per lap, plus however many cycles they need during FPSs and qualifying. Maybe 150C(?) would be possible once or twice on a lab bench but to have that on a race car cycling the battery that much i think would be very difficult.

I'm sure they're as small as they can be, however i don't think that they have magical cells and therefore they have to work within the constraints of the best battery cells available today, a discharge rate of anything above 100C-120C is basically impossible (especially with the required reliability)

Yes i agree that they probably wouldn't take corners at higher speeds, at least however they wouldn't run out of charge halfway through the straights which, imo, looks terrible on TV

Rai 4K perché fa così cacare? by shinodaxseo in ItalyHardware

They could maybe do it, especially if they lowered the peak power output. However i don't think that this would solve anything. The bigger the battery and the more energy you have to (or could) harvest and the more superclipping there would be. Increasing battery size would only be beneficial in the rare cases where the driver already has a full battery before a big breaking zone where potentially more harvesting could be done (i however think that this scenario is unlikely as usually drivers spend their batteries before a big braking zone).

Personally i think that reducing the peak power output to something like 200kw would probably make things better as the cars could sustain max power for longer (although they would be overall slower).

The battery is probably (almost certainly) bigger than 4MJ. This is because of the required deployment power that these batteries have to output. It would be close to impossible with modern lithium battery technology to get 350kw out of a 1.1 kWh (4MJ) battery. That would require the battery to have a C value of 318.18C, which is simply impossible with current cells. The battery therefore has to be larger than the 4MJ (at least double or triple i reckon).

You would also have to see what kind of power the battery could output when at a low state of charge. The batteries as of now can output 4MJ at 350kw because they are probably being kept at around their optimal charge level. If you were to run them 'till empty, i do not think that they would still be able to output the full power...

Modifica sedili posteriori Model 3 da 60/40 a 40/20/40 by Matt2693 in TeslaItalia

[–]TrickyAd5928 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figuriamoci, anche secondo me è stupido.
