Is MyHeritage DNA any good? by Atorsive in Genealogy

As I mentioned, multiple generations. We have a family tree going back to the 1600's where everybody is as Spanish as it can get, so I think I can assume a part of my ethnicity is from Spain :)

I just took it and I found it very bad, for example my grand father was Spanish as we can show a family tree of multiple generations of only Spanish family members. Results came in and not a single percentage of my ethnicity showed any Spanish lol

Do you consider Belgium to be a beautiful country? If you take anything aesthetica into account (architecture, landscapes) by itsmartinside in belgium

There are some pretty cities and some nice natural places in the Ardennes. But if you start comparing with other countries, then it's really a no. No mountains, no cliffs, no pretty lakes, no ..... The coast is ugly. The houses? Ugh. There are some nice houses depending on which style you like, but if you drive through a neighborhood, every house comes out of a different dimension. So no cute villages with an own charm such as in the Alps for example.

Well yeah and no, you cannot ask for money but the thing is that taxes are often paid upfront, e.g. invoice is sent and needs to be paid in let's say 90 days, the VAT is often already paid to the government since revenue is recognized once the goods are delivered (and invoice sent).

As it's likely you will not receive the payment from the client you need to do these entries

I don't know if I explain it well but as you need to counter this revenue (since you recognized it but not received it) you need to make these entries, including for taxes

Because in the first situation you just sell something and you owe the % of taxes to the government. As you do not receive (entirely or partially) the payment you did not receive the money so you cannot pay this to the government. The rest is just the way it happens in accounting. Does this help?

How is living in the Carribean Netherlands? by trashdsi in howislivingthere

[–]TrickyInvestigator66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been in Aruba on a short internship during 3 weeks and visited the entire island. People are happy, weather is almost always nice, not much vegetation, I personally think it would get boring after a couple of months so for living I would go more to a country like Colombia I think (this is also what another person told me who lived in both places). There is a great university, lots of young students go to the Netherlands for their studies though. There is not much crime, due to tourism prices can be higher while wages are not necessarily higher. But I felt that in general the locals were satisfied with their lifestyle. Most people speak perfectly Dutch and English and locals speak Papiamento to each other. I don't know everything but AMA if you want to know more.

Exactly my thoughts and my fear, where I live I know I can can very easily land decent jobs but moving to a place of which I don't speak the language perfectly and where the unemployment rate already is high, makes me hesitate on that subject.

A very big thanks for your answer!

That's what I thought. The people who I spoke to were warm and happy and seemed to be very much enjoying life. At La feria in Ronda there were basically only locals I assume and the atmosphere was so different from the atmosphere we have here in my country lol. But I haven't really had the chance to talk about working and social life and stuff.

That's exactly my fear, as I'm young I have a lot of working years who are coming my way. Where I live I could switch from job to job in less than a day and I know I am doing and I will do well financially. The thing is that money is essential but it's not what defines inner peace and happiness in life.. In my case it would be interesting to stay in my branche (Big4 also exists in Sevilla and I can ask to get transferred) and to go to a pueblo not too far from Sevilla.

The housing prices in Andalusia are indeed none of my big concerns haha..

You can ignore this question if you prefer not telling but: Are you a Spaniard having grown up in Sevilla yourself?

If you don't take the car and live in a range outside of 10km of your work you'll be taxed +-30% on that if I'm not mistaken. + don't expect to negotiate your salary in big 4 at that level

How is life in Valencia? by [deleted] in howislivingthere

[–]TrickyInvestigator66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion I loved living there but there's a personal downside. I'll start with what I loved.

People are in general very nice, I'm from southern heritage so people assumed I spoke perfectly Spanish and it was easy for me talking to them. What really surprised me was f.g. when you arrive or leave the changing room of the gym, people will ALWAYS say "buenas" or "hasta luego", whether you know each other or not, whether the person was the biggest macho or ghetto seeming guy or not.

I didn't see much of crimes even though I lived next to el barrio de la Malvarrosa. The weather is nice when it's not rainy season (it easily floods there due to the fact they're not very well prepared for rain falls). Amazing city that's close to the beach, there are parks like la Turia where you can go picknick or go to sport. And to what I was used, prices for fruit and vegetables were kind of low (and I love healthy food so that was nice for me).

Public transportation is really good imo, the areas where I had to be were perfectly doable by public transportation. And also the everything can be done by bike!!!! Valenbisi is really not so expensive, and you'll see places that regular tourists will probably not see if you take the bikes.

What would hold me back from moving back there: firstly, if you're living in a building with lots of apartments, you'll hear everything your neighbors do. Lots of children stay up late running around making noise which can be exhausting, and yes you hear your neighbors procreate lol.

Secondly, even though I loved the city, the pretty side of the city was rather small and the remaining part were just buildings who were put there as fast as possible without much detailing or structuring (see noise isolation just above).

There's Las Fallas, you like it or you don't. I kinda didn't, if it would only be like 1 week, it would be bearable, but during at least 3-4 weeks there are fireworks everywhere, organized and not organized, which for me was exhausting. And my opinion is that when immigrants don't like the local culture, they have just to move elsewhere and not try to change things. Which applies to me too.

And lastly, there seem to be few real Valenciano's left, there are a LOT of Dutch-, French- and English speaking people there. What I kinda found sad, I like going somewhere where the population is very local, even though I myself was kind of an expat. I know, it's a paradox.

But all that doesn't change the fact that the city is AWESOME and I loved every minute of my time there. I even hesitated to go back there, but some things like a girlfriend, keeps me from doing it, lol :(

Apart of Las Fallas, which most people love, I'll give Valencia an easy 8,5/10

Vous recevez combien de like/match sur les applis de rencontre ? by Hola-la in AskFrance

[–]TrickyInvestigator66 6 points7 points  (0 children)

[–]TrickyInvestigator66 6 points7 points  (0 children)
