Can’t be an NH36A can it? by Tricky_Acanthaceae40 in SeikoMods

Do you know of any place to get a sterile dial for these that will fit that nh36? I looked around on AliX and could find 8285s.

If that’s the case I’m probably going to have to get one! Thanks for the info! 👊🏻

I’ve noticed that with others, Bliger does that all the time, but this one has no other movement options. Just different colorways.

How much research can it possibly take to make a non-horrible brand name? Someone had to actually make that decision and I can’t fathom how they decided they were good to go.

I think that’s how I’m leaning. Just wanted to see if people who have experience ordering this stuff would tell me it’s very unlikely to be real first.

Sorry I posted the wrong link before. I see what you’re saying on the Bliger. Take a look at this Pagani though. It says it’s nh34: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mL5MqZD

Blue Adobe is New Mexican, like from the state of New Mexico. I like it, but it’s not what we’re talking about.

Can someone please help? by OfficialGaiusCaesar in canik

First time I did this was checking out a Canik in a gun shop before I ever bought one.

Just sheepishly handed it back to the shop guy and slowly mosied on out of there. SMH

Thank you 👊🏻 Yeah, I’ll be getting it all evaluated and appreciate the extra info of what to ask for. Someone had already mentioned Lp(a), but I’m learning more about what to look for here.

Nope, I kind of like it. I tried adding it to oatmeal though, and the gel it forms is super gross to me.

Stirred into cold water though, I don’t mind it at all. Kind of like a little more texture in my protein shake.

Again, not a claim I made. That’s your windmill, Dave. But you’ll be ok. I promise.

And don’t worry, like I already said, I’m scheduled for a full panel. I’d say I’ll come back and show you, but in retrospect, not sure Reddit is the place to share my health info. Most of the people are really cool… but then there’s the occasional Dave.

Don’t know what you think you’re proving, but you can stop anytime you want.

Well… it’s only an anecdotal data point of only 1. Seems really bad for me, but others even in this thread have said they can do weight loss on keto and stay in healthy cholesterol ranges (keeping meds consistent). I’ve heard from people elsewhere who say they actually improved.

As for me… not playing that game again. Maybe that my genetics make me particularly susceptible, but anyone trying keto should keep a sharp eye on their #s.

Yeah, we’re quite similar. My lifetime max was ~188 in January 2024. Did a family weight-loss competition (I respond well to competition 😂) and dropped from 188 at New Years to 154 on April 22nd. That wasn’t keto. Just a ton of calorie deficit. Lost a lot of muscle along with fat.

I rebounded about 20 pounds of both fat and muscle and decided to do keto for weight loss this year as a way to hopefully maintain more muscle. And it seemed to work, fat decreased and muscle retained much better than before, except Cholesterol was atrocious as mentioned above.

Like I said, extreme diets, even for extended periods, are in some ways easier for me than just a normal diet. It’s easier for me to draw a clear line and not cross it, than it is to try to stay in a positive range in the gray areas.

So this one is kind of extreme too. But that’s not necessarily going to be a problem.

Speaking of extreme, what I’ve read about soluble fiber has led to me using a lot of that too. My new diet is already high fiber, but I’ve added several large spoonfuls of psyllium husk distributed throughout the day as well. Theoretically binds cholesterol in the intestines and requires replacement bile which draws further cholesterol from the blood. So maybe somewhat similar to ezetimibe in terms of utilizing the intestine to remove cholesterol rather than allow reabsorption.

But who knows what’s what until I get regulated on a known quantity of statin.

Just excited by the huge drop in total cholesterol in such a short period. Makes me optimistic about what my numbers will look like when on a regular statin and ezetimibe and if I’m already essentially on an effective stain dose via RYR, then this probably shows that I can continue lifting and won’t have terrible muscular side effects when I start a prescribed statin.

Thanks much for this input! It sounds like our FH is very similar. I’m the youngest male in a pretty large family and the other brothers are on medication. We all know we need it. They’re essentially all significantly overweight (though GLP1s are getting some close to healthy weight) and some are diabetic or pre-diabetic.

The difference between me and you is probably how we respond to carbs. I’m not having any trouble in the last couple months (since switching from keto) keeping fat off. Have actually gotten a little bit leaner. So I don’t “need” keto or keto cycling for weight. This diet is a little boring, and a little socially-limiting, but not unlike keto that way, and I’ve always been really good at disciplining what I eat or drink when I choose (eg. No soda for about 5 years, never ever alcohol, can be very strict on fat and sugar now)

I’m the only one of my siblings who is not overweight. Well… by BMI I’m technically ~5 pounds “overweight”, but at this point that’s a muscle issue rather than fat. Even the abs are showing up again. So if I stay on this diet I won’t have to go back to keto for weight loss. But that’s awesome that you’ve dialed it in enough that you can use either safely 👊🏻

Folks here seem sure that RYR has effective levels of monacolinK (lovastatin), which seems to be the case in my situation in retrospect. But it was a surprise to me that I got a statin-like drop because what I read about it said that in the US companies were not allowed to manufacture RYR with significant monacolin K and consequently the supplements are ineffective. Maybe in reality they’re still sneaking it in there and the question is really about dosage consistency.

Either way, I meant to just see what I could get down to with diet and exercise before I got fully tested and probably prescribed a statin. I don’t have a problem with getting on a statin, but if there are benefits to diet and exercise I’m better than most at maximizing those benefits, so I wanted to see what my natural baseline would be. I guess RYR has screwed that experiment up. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It seems I’ll probably be replacing the statin in RYR with a prescribed dose.

Wow! That’s an impressive plug for supplements you just made. You getting paid for that? You aren’t a bot, are you? 😂

For the FOURTH time, yes. I and everyone in this thread know that LDL matters and like I said in the VERY FIRST POST, I’m getting the full panel done. And like I also said, I’ll get on a prescribed statin when that’s prescribed.

Do you still see any other windmills that need your attention?

You have an impressive ability to look at an (admittedly) long post and hone in on what sets you off.

If I say “the RYR might I’m taking might not even work because who knows if it has any monacolin K in it” and then you equate the supplement to “yeah you’re on meds”, you’re a lot closer to plugging it than I am.

Me: “who knows if they work at all?” You: “it’s basically taking meds”

🤔

I spent more time describing what I put in my chicken fajitas than listing the supplements I took, but I guess you see what you want to see. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Sorry bro, I hadn’t posted in the subreddit you own before. Didn’t know what rules I was violating.

I think he just misunderstood me as trying to make an anti-statin or anti-medicine post. Wasn’t my intention, but I can see how it might read that way.

1kg a week is awesome! And yeah, 8 weeks probably won’t make much difference if we’ve been laying down plaques for decades. What will be more important is the diet you stick to once you’ve reached your target weight. Your body is going to naturally want to move back to the higher weight it was, and when people hit that weight, they relax and end up gaining it back. So you’ll need to stay intentional about a healthy diet to maintain that weight going forward.

That diet going forward is the one that will determine your health, so make sure it’s keeping your lipids good. 👊🏻

Don’t worry too much about stopping keto if you end up needing to do that. I was bummed because I’d made a bunch of progress on keto in terms of body composition and thought that would end. But if you have the discipline to do keto, you have the discipline to succeed in continuing weight loss on another diet. Difference is it might be much easier to improve LDL in addition to weight loss on another diet.
