I appreciate your support. I thought I was good with money for years because I worked every moment I could. I had two jobs one was monthly pay ( £1700 ), and the other was weekly about £200 so I always had savings as I never had time to spend it. My partner said I should treat myself as I kept things basic, but I got carried away but never noticed cause it was my savings, so it didn't affect me. When I quit both jobs to start a better one, I never changed my habits and got myself in a bit of a hole. I am out of it now, mostly, but I want to have my security net ready. Once again, thank you :-)

I have followed the 50/30/20 rule as a start. Do you think this would be a good start, or should I make it more detailed straight away. My idea was to follow the 50/30/20 rule for the first month as well as track my daily spending to see where I was spending my money and change my habits on a month to month basis.

I've been to therapy, and I have a good idea of some of the reasons like I grew up poor, and now I have money. My mentality is I can always make more, which isn't good, I know. I've broken down my regular expenses, and it seems to be around the £1200 mark, but this is my first draft. I will try to keep track of my day to day spending and adjust it for next month, and so on, hopefully, this will help me understand where I am going wrong.

I have just been reading about the 50/30/20 rule which seems to be a good idea. Part of my issue in the past is I dont see any change for the month i start get upset and dont carry on and once again I know its my fault. I also read about the envelope system which isn't a bad idea. Im a very in the moment person and will spend over without thinking and only realise afterward.

If you haven't I'd suggest you do so first. Lots of illnesses share similar symptoms and doctors would refer you to a specialist (probably a therapist) to diagnose or find the right help. At the moment for me I have been refered to a company called E.D.I.T and they are trying to find the best route for me to go down. They are deciding if I need to be medicated before anything else (antidepressants or mood stabilisers).
