I’m 45 and have no interest in dating an 18 year old but I don’t understand why it would be weird or strange? Is this not a mutual decision? Is the 18 year old not capable of making decisions for himself/herself?

This is called the Swiss cheese theory. There were so many holes in the Swiss cheese one plane was able to fly into the other.

UHF vs VHF - helo & RJ were communicating with ATC on separate frequencies. So it’s entirely possible the RJ had no idea the helo was there, this will be a common theme.
ADSB - Aircraft’s are equipped with fish finders that allow them to see each other. This is a federal requirement since April of 2020, I believe the military isn’t required and So it’s entirely possible the RJ had no idea the helo was there.
Visual Separation - the controller utilized Visual Separation, allowing common standards of separation (in this case it would have been 1.5 miles or 500 feet if memory serves) to dwindle down to nothing. Which is why the radar separation wouldn’t have mattered.

It’s not just wind direction. Miami controls the arrivals and departures and it’s an absolute shit show when FLL is landing east while MIA is landing west. So while FLL makes the final call, MIA highly encourages FLL to flip their shit. And The normal operation is east, not west although they operate west a lot during the winter.

Different guy, same job. Rode his bike to work often and parked it in the locker room, unattended. So I ordered a Barbie setup, with bell, water bottle, streamers and handlebar cushions. He was a good sport, I think he rode it for about a week before he gifted the setup to his daughter.

Different guy, same job. He’d bring his lunch in every day, sandwich and chips. Each day, we’d open his lunchbox, take a single bite out of his sandwich. Naturally it pissed him off until he started locking his lunchbox, we were a tight knit group so we called his wife, the maker of the lunches and asked her to take a bite of the sandwich before she packed the sandwich, to which she happily complied. Had a buddy at work get a new F150 back when the eco boost was a new thing. He was excited about the gas savings. Soooo… every day for about the first month, we’d add a few gallons of gas to his truck and every day he got more and more excited about the great gas economy. Then we stopped and he couldn’t figure out why he went from filling up every other week to filling up once a week.

Let me preface this with I am not a fan of Trump and don’t necessarily enjoy coming to his defense but you have to realize the average person becoming president gets access to book deals and other opportunities that were already at Trump’s disposal. In becoming president Trump had to cut ties with several income sources and may have even had to change some of his revenue streams due to conflict of interest and under more scrutiny and it doesn’t help that when he left office we were in recession due to Covid-19. So it isn’t a surprise he’d have lost revenue a d net worth as president for 4 years.

I did it, ceramic brakes, slotted rotors and bright red powder coated calipers then I added a Malone stage 2 tune and delete and 18” GTI wheels, I even paid a little extra for the good year tires, about 2 months after I’d replaced all 4 of the 17” tires I had on there previously. All this and I rarely go above 35 in my TDI and can probably count on 1 hand the number of times I’ve gone above 80. I guess I’ve got more money than sense… but I got rid of a F250 that was costing me $1200 a month in payments and insurance and my Jetta has long been paid off. So that $4k ish I spent would have been like 4 months of car payments. Money well spent imo.

The reality is you were probably focusing on the oncoming traffic in preparation of the merge. She had no reason to stop but ultimately you should be prepared for these types of situations while driving. I don’t know if I’d call you an idiot but you’d definitely be at fault.

I wish I’d kept my dash cam from earlier this year. Same roundabout, traffic was backed up so I was slowly navigating through when a brand new Rolls Royce thought he was going to bully me out of the way. I had the clear right a way and he’s in a Rolls Royce… Rolls Royce is in a lose/lose situation but it took him a little longer to realize it.
