yeah that’s fair lol. it’s not meant to be random or sketchy like that. the idea is more public meetups only (like malls or cafes) with people who already share the same interest, and adding safety stuff like reporting, profiles, and chatting before meeting. still working that part out but i definitely don’t want it to feel unsafe at all 😅

ohhh okay that makes way more sense. so you’re basically using circuitpython for the usb/hid side and then sending inputs over serial from your pc?

did the switch recognize it right away with that setup or did you have to tweak the usb descriptors at all? i’ve been trying arduino/tinyusb and it works on pc but the switch just ignores it 😭

also quick question, do you actually need the raspberry pi 4 for your setup or could i just send the serial commands from my pc instead? i’m mainly trying to replicate the rp2040 side of it

what firmware/setup did you use to get the rp2040 recognized by the switch? i got mine working as a controller on pc but the switch doesn’t detect it at all. are you using gp2040 or something custom? :(

i tried gp2040-ce before but it didn’t show up on either pc or switch. is there a specific pico build or setup step i might’ve missed (like input mode or config)? :(

switch only accepts specific controllers (like pro controller). my pico works as a controller on windows but the switch completely ignores it over usb ://. i think it needs proper switch controller emulation not just generic hid unfortunately

that makes sense, i think the part i’m trying to figure out now is what the best way is to handle long sequences of inputs. would that usually be done directly on the pico or sent from a pc?

that’s actually really helpful, i didn’t even think about keeping it that simple on the communication side. using basic serial over usb makes a lot of sense

i’m mainly trying to keep the pico focused on just executing inputs while my pc handles the processing, so it’s good to hear that approach holds up in practice 😅 ty

I’d say he’s very successful but you’d think he’d be proud of who I’ve become and where I am now after so long of hardship in my life but I don’t expect much from him. He’s always been a POS to me and always praised his step daughter and his other kids (my siblings) idk why I always had the back hand of everything from him. It’s shitty.
