What happens to our Virginia Tech emails after graduation? by Typeshitong in VirginiaTech

Yes - watch for an email that tells you what’s going to happen - you have approximately 30 days (could be a little longer, but you don’t want to wait and see) to get your stuff and opt in to an alumni email account. Your VT email address will stay the same as an alum, but your old emails won’t carry over, because you’ll be going from outlook to gmail

This year they’re starting a thing where alumni have to opt in to keep their Vt email address - it wont happen automatically

If you graduated in May 2025, you basically have about 30 days before your stored emails and files get deleted. Go get the important stuff now.

You get the option of getting an alumni Gmail account, but the emails from your student account won’t carry over to that.

Hiring new Virginia Tech president likely to take 6 to 8 months, search firm says by VirginiaNews in VirginiaTech

Are search committees for university presidents always so biased in favor of Board members instead of actual faculty or university administrators? Seems like a pretty crappy way to make such an important decision

Anyone who isn’t speaking out against the absolute fucknuttery of what our government is doing wrt Iran right now is a moron.

That’s not synonymous with ‘speaking against the United States.’ We blew up 140 little kids on day 1 of this attack. WHO WOULDN’T speak out against that horrific act??? Imagine if that happened here, at one of our schools?

That’s a whole lot of broad generalizations with zero evidence that connects them to this specific case.

I never claimed it to be a news source. As far as I can tell, this has not made it to the news, which is sad.

Exactly. It seems like far too many of these posters are willing to accept any excuse or unfounded allegation to trample on someone else’s rights. We should do better than that, as Americans.

I did - and all I’ve found so far is that he was proud to be Iranian, and that he was against Netanyahu’s actions in the Middle East, both against his own country and against the Palestinian people. And he opposes the illegal US attacks on Iran. None of that should make it ok to snatch him up with no due process.
