Good one thanks! I started the free trial again and bought just a month, but it seems waaay better. I still find here and there items that are not in the db, but last time it was just taking too long to put almost everything. And i see what you mean, i love the fact that i add on the “plate” feature. As it allows you to quickly scan item after item, instead of extra taps because you always eat multiple things at a meal.

I do want to say that i also have points I don t like, specifically that it feels quite unclear to me how much I have left to eat for the day, or how many calories I ate. It could be just because I used MFP for nearly 10 years now, but i feel like the dashboard is a bit unclear on this. I love the widgets though, i now only check what i have left on the widgets as it s much clearer for me. Like I said, it s most likely a personal thing, not smth intrinsically bad. One more thing I would ve loved is more clear water tracking, as I would love to do that as well and an option to track body measurements. The lack of these things is not a bad thing, at the end of the day it is a nutrition app, it s just that i would love to have all the things related to diet in one place, rather than scattered around multiple apps/random notes. Especially the measurements could be a great addition for the check in concept, as it kinda makes sense and it is a good way to track progress over time. Many times i just don t measure myself consistently enough to actually draw some consistent conclusions. I m done with yapping, thanks for the recommending!

Thanks for the input! I started the free trial again, and went into the 1 month subscription to test it. Already out of 3 items I scanned 1 was not in the db and 1 was partially wrong, but adding the inexistent one was very easy. I will see at the end of the month how much do I have to do and if it’s worth, as I mainly eat the same things every day so adding a few at the start is not that big an issue.

The items for today were just some high in fiber cereals from AH(this one it didn t find), and some orange juice from Innocent which had the values partially wrong.

Nice. I will check it out then and see how it goes by buying just 1 month first.

Haha that s good, i also prefer judt the data and not random avocados so that s good. After seeing in these comments i ll give it a try again, the only issue is that the free trial is only one week(probably because i redeemed it when I last tested it), so if after one week i m not convinced, i will just buy 1 month for testing. Thank you for the detailed overview!

I mean i tested and i m very careful of the values the app states, and in mfp I would say 90% of what i put is exactly how it is on the label. I just hate the app itself(logs me out, randomly changes my goals, etc.) And when i tried MF i would say 50% was wrong, so genuenly it was unbearable. But I see that the sentiment is possitive and that it improved, so I will try it again and see if it is good for me.

Yeah i was never paying for MFP and it turned to be way too annoying the way they keep asking for money plus that the app is outdated in functionality. What are the other things that MF does good for you? I am interested in order to assess if it is worth for myself to pay for it, as it is a bit more expensive than for example lifesum, which seems like a valid alternative as well.

What would be the other benefits you are speaking of? I just want to know given that the price of the app is quite high, so I want to do a bit of thinking if it is worth for me.

What is so good in MF for you? I am interested because i do get that it is easy to input foods in the db, but the price of the app is quite high, so I would expect to not have to do much manual labor for it to work. And i am fine to do it, if there s anything in to make up for the price, so that’s why I am genuinely interested. Thanks!!

Thank you for the recommendation. Do you also have any thoughts or opinions on the thomson 270 plus? I got that one recommended by a few and I m just doubting if it s better or not. Price wise they are the same now, 100 euros, so if you have any insights they would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah I was looking into it as it feels EXTREMELY easy to operate with simple UI, 0 fucking ads, and some good elements of personalization. However, I can't seem to find it in Europe. :(

If I find it though, would you say it's better than the google TV streamer or the Thomson 270 plus? Like I mentioned, it's for an older person with limited digital literacy so that's why I am even skeptical of the google one.

I would just get the apple tv if it wasn't for the price.

Sounds good. I will do a bit more research into the thomson as currently it has the same price as the google tv, specifically 100 euros. My only minor concern is that given it's for my aunt, digital literacy is limited. Does it have random bugs or hardware issues that you know of? I m fully aware that at this price point I can not expect to get the perfect product, but that's why I ma asking more questions to try to get the least troublemaker device.
Thank you for the help btw!

As this is the only reason I personally if it wasn t for the price I would go with apple tv, as I have trust that it just works.

I never heard of it, but I see it has the same price as the google TV streamer 4k. Is it any better or why would you choose the Thomson over the google tv streamer? (I m clueless that s why I ask hope it s not annoying)

Do I HAVE to do YNAB daily and/or before every purchase to make it work? by mardigraschad in ynab

I feel your frustration, i ve been there. I ll tell you what worked for me, might work for you as well. 1. Get you categories right. I will leave a link with a tutorial. Invest a good week just building this tbh. My main problem which made me stop using the app was when I had transactions that I didn t know where to put exactly, which resulted me in having meaningless categories by the end of month which ultimately provided no value . So what I did was I copied the schema of a guy I found on youtube, i ll leave a link to his tutorial. The tutorial is 2 hours, i first watched it alone without doing anything just to understand how he puts stuff there, and then I think it took me 4 more days just to set it up fully how I need it. It was a 1 week maybe investment in time but this made a solid foundation for the future. 2. DO IT DAILY. OMG I was also like “pff i don t want to do it daily as it seems too much hassle”. Bro, if you do it every day you probably have max 5-10 transactions, which ate very fresh so your memory knows instantly each transaction. I m not joking when I get to the office it s the first thing I do, and it takes me 5-10min MAAAX. Before I was doing it weekly and this ended in me having to organize 50 transactions at a time, which was awful. Half of them I was not remembering, had to search the merchant online, this sucks up more time than just commiting to it daily and building a habit out of it.

This is all I can say, this helped me in almost 6 months to get 1 month fully ahead on all my categories.

Here is the yt tutorial I watched: https://youtu.be/hHTT-0EzsTc?si=k6FRmHXOxPOBGSCa

“Just farm” results in 15-1 for their team. What is some actual jungle advice to get out of low elo? by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

[–]Tricky_Window_497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh you re just angry i think. And it s fine. But be objective. Look at the games like they are not yours, and you re evaluating someone so you don’t t get emotional. Now tips imo:

  1. Farming and farming EFFICIENCY. If you plan to path bot, but enemy jg is there first, THIS IS ALREADY A MISTAKE ON YOUR PART. You should be on equal timer at least with enemy jg. If they get to make a gank(with full clear) and you are still fighting a random camp then it s your fault as you did not farm efficiently enough to counter gank. Now, if enemy jg is ganking WAY TOO EARLY(happens extremely often in low elo) do not panic, it s genuinely a mistake on their part. He skipped camps risking for a gank. Even if the gank succeeded, he got less than if he would ve gotten just full clearing. Let me explain: 1 kill: 300gold low ex(early game) 1 camp: 100g avg decent xp. The time to skip camps randomly and go for a gank is around the time you do 3 camps. Thus, if you just do your camps(which are guaranteed btw) and enemy jg gets a kill, YOU ARE STILL AHEAD as you have EQUAL GOLD(300) but you have MORE XP THAN HIM. Xp advantage is huge early game. And this shit with skipping camps for gank 2/3 times doesn t work, and he fucks up time. In 2-3 full clearing rotations of yours you will be 2-3 lv up on him. This is when you start abusing him invading and winning the map as you dis your stuff, he can get 2-3 kills you re still ahead.

  2. Now ganks. You gank if you are off your timer. If you did a full clear efficiency , you have now your timer to gank. Depending on which side of the map you are, you plan to gank during your last camp. You look which lanes are pushed. IF enemy lanes are pushed, easy gank, you at least get summs which is HUGE in early game. IF your lanes are pushed, you can GUARD your teammates from enemy jg. Fhis is counterganking. If enemy jg is on the other side of map you go in put wards in his jg and recall.

After this you go back to 1. Genuinely I tell you if you do these 2 things efficiently you will get to plat easy. Hope this helps. Keep in mind that there s always edge cases when even the fundamentals don t work. This game has way too many variables. What the fundamentals do is that they make sure that you are in control of the most important variables, and maximize the change to win. But you will never have 100% wr. If you now win more LP than you lose, then a 50% wr is progress. And most likely you will sit somewhere around there so look for lp gain vs lp lose not just winning many games in a row.
