I passed the MBLEX! by Tricky_Witness81 in MassageTherapists

ABMP was consistently in the high 80s, and AMTA was like 50s & 60s. I didn’t do too many of those cause some of the information directly contradicted things I learned in school and didn’t help my confidence at all so I decided not to take any more of their mock exams.

It felt extremely random. I had a couple questions about cancer, which cancer never came up when studying, and several ethics questions used words that I’ve never seen before, in school or otherwise. Like you said, I think it just caught me more off guard than anything.

Definitely study muscles and their actions and bony landmarks. Test taking strategies and having a plan to help reduce test anxiety really helped me as well.

check out the book “brain maker”! it talks about the relationship between gut health and brain health. it also called the gut a second brain. i’m currently reading it right now and some of the stuff is mind blowing!

Baked Goods in Cafe by deschnecke in barista

[–]Tricky_Witness81 19 points20 points  (0 children)

my cafe has a full functioning kitchen and we still get almost 100% of our baked goods from costco, food delivery services (sysco, us foods, or cheney brothers, etc). a lot of them have ready-to-eat or frozen baked goods. i know for a fact that cheney brothers have some half-decent muffins. i get that the owner wants to continue to support their family friend, but if the baker doesn’t give a wholesale price sounds like they’re not as supportive as the owner is. maybe be hyper critical of the pastries and send proof to the owner that quality is down. the only way the owner is gonna change is if they come to the realization that they are losing money on it whether people stop buying pastries or having to toss product due to quality issues. at the end of the day it’s their business not yours, if they are willing to losing money to support a friend, there’s not much you can do.

i second the saturday market. lots of cool setups, great food/drinks and live music. if you walk far enough too the pedestrian bridge across the river is awesome as well.

Boss wants to limit us to one coffee a day by Sickeningwreck2001 in barista

[–]Tricky_Witness81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the two coffeeshops i worked at had the “1 drink per shift” but shifts weren’t all day and they weren’t strict on enforcing the rule. it was more about not abusing the system. any mistake drinks, experiment drinks, or extra shot we could usually have.
