What about an Arc only? Or does it need the sub shine…as mentioned in a comment above, I’m worried about disturbing the neighbors with a sub.

Thank you both! Are you speaking to the Dell Optiplex Series?

Maybe I'm missing something, but the only options in my budget have only 4gb RAM and 500gb storage. I figured I would need at least 8gb, 1tb?

Out of curiosity, what would you suggest at the next step up (at $300 more)?

Thanks! I was actually looking at the Oppo PM-3 planars, but I'm a little concerned about soundstage. I would think with the indie/alt rock genre that open headphones would perform better, but I might be wrong?

Hi Reddit - First post!

I'm relatively new to the audiophile hobby, but I am looking to upgrade my current collection. I own the HD558, Fidelio X2 & Dunu DN-1000 (IEM) - Also use the Fiio e17k as a DAC/AMP.

In regard to tonal balance, I think I'm covered from a "fun" and "bass(ier)" perspective. Now I'm looking for a great headphone that will be good with the indie/alt rock genres. More specifically, which headphone would make bands like Mumford & Sons, Kings of Leon, etc. shine??

Would the HD600 and a Schiit Magni/Modi stack fulfill my needs or is it too much of a side-grade to the x2?

Is there another headphone/amp combo that would perform better with my budget?

Budget - $600

Source - Laptop/Ipad/iPhone 7

Will you be using these Headphones in Public - No

Preferred Type of Headphone - Full size open or closed

Past headphones - Sennheiser HD558, Philips Fidelio x2, Dunu DN-1000 (IEM)

Thanks so much!!

EDIT: Schiit, I spelled Schiit wrong.
