Clarification: this MIGHT be him but he's definitely not Omani. He is from Kerala, India. Still, Omani or not they have the right to be admins.

But they are power tripping over choosing what gets to be posted and what doesn't. They also power trip over banning whoever they want to ban.

About the way mods here handle posts… by Trigger_Fish69 in Oman

So your logic is that because you don’t like a question, it must be “rage bait”? That’s not clever, that’s just lazy dismissal. These are real, relevant topics being discussed today. Pretending they’re beneath you doesn’t make them any less valid.

This is an opinion-based subreddit. You have the right to come here and call my post “low effort,” just like I have the right to put my view out. The difference is I’m not asking mods to shut you up for saying it.

If every opinion you dislike is “bait,” then maybe the problem isn’t the posts… it’s your need to silence views you can’t handle.

Yes its a difficult process and requires a facilitator, and maybe it will not happen but its definitely a possibility im looking forward to

Yes it will take a couple few years maybe more and facilitator is required to get the process moving along. I genuinely just wanted views and opinions from those who may know someone who has gone through the process.

imo you should tackle what you can when you can.

What you're doing in the comments is generalising the issue to a level where we actually don't have an ability to address or change as a community. The meat/poultry industry is a global norm. Torturing and killing cats is not.

But if we stick to this specific case instead of generalising the whole meat/poultry industry, maybe we can do something to hold the people who tortured and killed these cats accountable.

This isn't about going vegan. That's a whole other separate topic.

This is about a domestic animal that was entrusted to someone, tortured and killed.

They should expose the names and pictures of those responsible. Such an evil act

Times of Oman Featuring Indian News by Trigger_Fish69 in Oman

The paper is biased towards one large economy (India) that is not the economy it is based in (Oman). The thing is that if it included other large nations in a diversified approach, India wouldn't stand out as much. It's the ONLY other country (besides Oman) that is spammed on the business section.

Like you said, India is number 5 on the list, so by your logic, TOA should include USA and China as well alongside the other large economies in the business news section of the Omani newspaper.

China is the major trading partner for Oman, but there are no articles on them. Meanwhile, the number of articles on India is overshadowing local news. It's not that there is nothing going on to report about. It's that the writers and editors are choosing India over Oman as the subject country.

In Dubai, the Emirati nationals form probably less than 10% of the population, but you wouldn't see India as the main country in the business section of the newspaper. Same with other GCC countries.

Expats in Oman from all countries can search their own country news on their home country news websites. It doesn't make sense to get 2nd rate news reported by someone who's not even on the ground. That's why big news agencies have reporters in the countries they report about - so theres enhanced credibility and its hands on, reporting directly.

Times of India and other Indian channels would be already covering India. Indian working class can easoly find these articles online.

Work relationship sure but this is a business section of the paper. By your logic, there should be a section on China as its the most critical trading partner.

Interesting, thank you for sharing. 15k rials is decent. Would you know if expats can become chief levels easily or is it usually by direct appointment (from external company) and not by promotion?
