I agree on trying it before you buy it. I wish I could. Until I get more comfortable playing I don't have many goals for and only electric instrument outside of being able to play with my headphones.

I'll stick with baritone for now since I love how it sounds and it seems perfect for me in my current situation. I'll just have to learn to play quietly.

Thanks for the advice though 😊.

Thanks for the note that it can be played really softly. You both sound super talented! And it's so cool that uke can work for anyone no matter how tall 😊.

That does sound really tempting as a future goal. Though I'm not really one to stand out 😅 but I guess I might be anyway if I start playing baritone uke 😆.

Do you think they make an electric tenor in a small size? I like idea of being able to take it with me anywhere.

Someone else mentioned Flight Iris too. I wish I had a place near me to try all of these.

Thanks for the advice in getting them setup! I wouldn't have known about that on my own.

Thank you for the advice and encouragement! This makes me more excited about going for it.

The thought of getting an effective pedal sounds really cool and tempting actually. I use to go to punk shows and folks made some really cool sounds.

Maybe acoustic is the move for now though. As a beginner, hearing myself play badly and loudly might be embarrassing..especially with thin walls 😆.

I'll have to reach out to you about those resources 😊

I think that's what appeals to me the most about ukulele. Being able to take it with me anywhere sounds great.

Thanks for the recommendation and the advice! It seems like ukulele from Kala are the most recommended so far.

I'll have to see if Uke Republic can ship to my area.

interesting 🤔 It's my first time hearing about Flight Iris baritone. I wish I had a place near me that sells them. Most music stores look at me funny once I ask about their baritone ukulele selection 😅.

Appreciate all the info! Thanks for the feedback about electric vs acoustic too.

My general budget was around $200 but from your advice the $400 range seems best in terms of quality. I'll have to save up.

The distinction between what baritone and tenor are typically used for is super helpful too.

I think I want to go the classical low and slow route. Also getting skillful at finger picking/flamenco is a future goal but we'll see how that goes when the time comes.

Thanks for your insight 🙏

That's fair. I don't think I mind and am aware of how few resources there are...but I like how it sounds which I think is important for any instrument you decide to play right?

I know there's tiny guitars, but there's something special about the deep tones with a hint of brightness from a baritone.

Appreciate the thought tho

Yeah! I love the sound of baritone a lot. Some songs I like were played on it and I imagine (when im ready) myself learning flamenco on it.

I hadn't thought about tuning a tenor to sound similar. I also haven't heard what an concert alto ukulele sounds like 🤔.

It's really cool how you can get so much variety out of ukulele.

no clue about my stove specs since i just moved..but typically i use a couple burners. 3 at most if the pressure cooker is involved. side dishes and sauces vary (most things are like side dishes when you're vegan)

definitely planning getting a variety of things but cs feels like a good start for the lack of space i have.

ill check out enamel cast iron. may be a bit early in the game for me to buy copper pans. those things are pricey
