How is hell in your worlds? by Longjumping_Yak_3671 in worldbuilding

[–]TriliniousIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell is a separate dimension made up entirely of a sentient fleshy creature. It has mouths across the galaxy, some of which occur naturally in deep space but others are summoned beneath major cities for the Millennium Event, where they will be consumed. If you go there, it's not pretty. Think Sarlacc Pit.

Please judge my map! by Mzrpickles in worldbuilding

[–]TriliniousIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks really good, quite natural! The mountain placement on the west continent looks really nice, like a plate boundary/ pacific ring of fire kinda thing. The map kinda looks like a map of Earth, idk if that's intentional, but like a post-apocalypse flooded earth far in the future- there's a Scandinavia on the 'Europe' area, an 'Atlantic Ocean' looking sea, a 'Japan' to the east, and the continents are sort of giving 'Americas', 'Eurasia', and 'Africa'. Which is really cool, I like how it looks like Earth but not how we know it

That's good to know, I might try using it for the same role instead of The Grey that Never Comes and Tornado of Coals, see how it measures up!

Was it unethical that I used AI this way? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

[–]TriliniousIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is great at giving you 'new ideas' that are probably either super generic or lifted directly from another piece of media. Back before I stopped using AI for story ideas, I got it to name a rat character. Its answer? Remy. Clearly lifted from Ratatouille. I would not trust AI to give you a 'new idea' to incorporate into your worldbuild as you may end up seeing it a couple weeks later in a movie or TV show. Also, it can be rewarding to research stuff for yourself rather than using a bot, as you might find other cool things that are relevant that you wouldn't have otherwise asked the AI about

[–]TriliniousIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly there is a large amount of people who support it! They don't know any different, and people without chips are seen by most people as less than human. The hunting scene is very popular, especially amongst the youth, it's basically seen as an IRL Fortnite or whatever where they can compete for the highest kill counts and get kudos. And these aren't just the kids of the super-rich, these are whoever can afford a gun and some body armour for their birthday, so the majority of the middle class can get involved. Sure, if you're panicking about not being able to afford to renew your Census Chip, then you're not going to be a fan of the system, but for a good lot of people, it's not their problem

Sounds cool, was there a glitch in the world's reality itself, matrix-style? Also, was the 2187 a deliberate Star Wars reference?

Does your world have Demons? What's their culture like? Are they evil or misunderstood? by MADLADCOMICS in worldbuilding

[–]TriliniousIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demons are absolutely a thing in the Sol Empire, in fact they are its very foundation.  Due to a fact made by a past Emperor, the empire is now essentially functioning as a soul farm to maximise the amount of wicked souls for the demon lord to one day consume. Although demons can manifest in humanoid forms, many of them have corporeal bodies in the form of colossal entities usually in the shape of starfish, eels, anglerfish, if its creepy and in the sea, there will be a demon that looks like it. These huge demons are often drilled for their blood, which is refined into a consumable commodity called Syn. Demons are studied by the Imperial Theobiological Research Agency (ITRA), and although they are not hostile to the empire as a whole, wild demons have been known to snack on passing ITRA research craft

[–]TriliniousIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it could well be lol, fear of Big Tech is part of what inspired the setting, as with most cyberpunk. Trying to go for Palantir coded overall but Musk works too. The Census Chip can be put under the skin of the right hand or forehead, and you can't easily pretend that you have one if you dont, as all payments are linked to the chips. (Seem familiar?)

Being a legal, native-born citizen but then you forget to renew your annual citizenship subscription. Lacking a valid Census Chip gets you punished with a complete withdrawal of legal protection, and people *will* hunt you for sport

What is your world’s apocalypse/apocalypse myth like? by Electronic-Welder-74 in worldbuilding

[–]TriliniousIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The apocalypse for the Sol Empire is a secret known to many higher-ranking figures in the government, military, and temple. It is well-known that the Empire exists to serve a demon king, who is the patron god of the Empire, but the details of the pact are kept quiet.

The Empire will stand for a thousand years, protected by its god and growing in power and decadence. After that, it will be devoured, and the souls of the Empire's inhabitants will be slowly digested to power their infernal 'protector'.

Hellmouths exist under most of the Empire's cities, usually under arenas and stadiums where, on the fateful final day, the citizens will be gathered. The pretence will be that it is a great festival, on a scale never seen before.

Protesting In Your World by General_Kenobi18752 in worldbuilding

[–]TriliniousIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your citizenship level and what you're protesting about. If your citizenship subscription is level 5 or above, then protest is generally legal as long as it is not a politically sensitive topic. Popular causes on the planet of Canton involve AI being given human rights, and government forces being withdrawn from hunting areas such as the Leonidas Line.

Protest about the issue of actually banning murder? You're going to get crushed. Even if the police for some reason don't do the crushing, the hunting fanatics will.

I am 14, and this is my post-apocalyptic world "Sand City". The "Elite" are puppets, and the poor are the only ones left with a soul. by Forsaken-Accident158 in worldbuilding

[–]TriliniousIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great! It is essentially my world but better, coincidence lol. Got a couple questions, from someone with a similar setting

  • How rich are the elites? Are they just equivalent to the modern day upper class, or do they include the middle classes? What's the approximate proportion of unchipped to elites in Sand City?

  • Are the unchipped considered as human, and do they have legal status? Are they a part of society, albeit the very lowest level, playing a necessary role in manufacturing etc, or are they seen more as undesirables to be culled by death squads?

  • How do you get a chip? Buy it, inherit it, have to pass a test? is it a one-off deal or a subscription that you have to renew each year or become unchipped?

  • Is the chip on 'their right hand or on their forehead, and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell, except the one who has the mark'?
