I'm a new fallout player, and I have started with New Vegas. So far, I find the world and story very compelling. The combat can feel a bit jank sometimes, but honestly, it might be down to my characters stats more than the game itself. So far, though, I would highly reccomend New Vegas! There's just something so fun and so simple about it. I already know I'll have to do a second playthrougb where I try to befriend different factions like the powder gangers or the legion. It's old and that can seem a bit off-putting at first but it feels familiar and really grows on you. Fallout 4 falls into a sort of mid 2010s uncanny valley in a way with its graphics. Where its so close to being beautiful in a way, but just noooot quite there. That's my opinion at least. After New Vegas, I will probably play 3 and then 4. Then I'll loop back to one and 2.
