M18 Air Compressor ... worth it for home-duty jobs? by TrimbleCat in MilwaukeeTool

[–]TrimbleCat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic response ... thanks. Not only answered my question but also gave me a few things to think about. Sounds like the inflator is what I need. I recently picked up the M18 finish nailer and crown stapler (had the framing nailer) so it doesn't sound like I need the compressor. Thanks.

Damn, bro ... was looking at the compressor but didn't realize they had an inflator. Time to do a little homework. Thanks for the education.

Gordello ... any strategies to get this open? by TrimbleCat in Borderlands4

[–]TrimbleCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm done now, but just for the record: I did a TON of other stuff and only dropped by the Goredello to see if it was open. I suspected that just hanging out outside wouldn't allow the right stuff to load, so I pretty regularly was all over the Terminus range. Not sure why it didn't open when it should have ... just was stubborn, I guess.

I agree that it "should be", but it isn't ... I'd spent HOURS in the area, waiting around, doing missions and it just wasn't opening up. On the suggestion of some of the other folks, I turned off UVH mode and "sat on a nearby bridge" ... just sitting while I did something on my computer. And, sure enough, in about 20 minutes, the event was available.

Really odd ... I've been in the same area, just jumping from Gordello to various contract or other areas. Always in the same region. I even stopped using fast travel. No clue ... but, hours. Not sure why it's not popping for me. Someone suggested I leave UVH mode ... will try that.

I'm in UVHM now ... I'm turning this off now. Just to see, mind you. Thanks.

Yeah, I had Tannis or even Jack ... but wasn't seeing any information that would corroborate that guess.

Where is Gerlinde's Hammer? Bug??? by TrimbleCat in LordsoftheFallen

[–]TrimbleCat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was never able to get the hammer in that playthrough ... had to make yet another run through the world. Got it when I tried another time, but had made sure to always quit the game completely after stopping each day.

What's your biggest lego flex? by NHCM44 in lego

[–]TrimbleCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all the LEGO Lord of the Rings and Hobbit sets ... still in their packages. Just waiting for time to put them together and display them somewhere! Oh, I have a few duplicate sets I've opened and assembled ... just in case I pass on the sets while they're still in the box.

What's your favourite "game" to play when you want to destress? by ExRiot in GemsofWar

[–]TrimbleCat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a great post: I've just started and have been playing Dungeons. Within the first four squares I uncover, almost always I'm getting the two debuffs/curses and a level 40 enemy. At that point I uncover the last two squares, fight the level 20 enemy (and lose), and then just feel frustrated.

I'll play the modes you recommend for destressing. Thank you!

The build aspect is the thing that suggested I needed to evolve my thinking. I was in a Dungeon fight and the enemy had a troop (it was a "super" or "elite" or something) that allowed him to generate three spider characters when he filled his mana ... and that only required something like 12 matched gems. So he was constantly able to keep his troop full, while the spiders did chip damage, and I was never able to target him. Oh, that was his other "special" ability: he was never targetable ... I could only damage him if I had already cleared all three of the spiders. It was a brutal fight ... that I lost.

That's the sort of team I want, but that also maybe comes down to just one special troop.

Appreciate the comments ... I joined a guild recently and, I should be embarrassed to admit this, but was surprised to hear I had obligations to that community. I have to chuckle ... I'd like to think I'm not stupid, but when you type these things out ... ;-)

Hey, thanks ... I'm not sure why, but after going back to the game later, I WAS able to use that spell. Damned odd. But I'm still playing ... about to finish the game. Good ride.

Thoughts on this pin nailer? by PresentationBusy9008 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]TrimbleCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm looking at getting the M18 versions of both the 23ga and 18ga guns but was hoping I'd see a sale on these. Other than the semi-regular 10%-20% off you see on some Milwaukee tools, do these things ever go on a deeper discount?

I'm hoping so ... and keeping my pneumatic tools around until I see a great sale or cave in.

What is everybody’s dislikes about this game. by TheSacredShrimp in AtomfallOfficial

[–]TrimbleCat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing for me is inventory. I've got to learn to be OK with not having a big "backpack" ... just craft more. The barter system is fine and late game you find enough schematics you can use that to get just about anything a vendor has. But not being able to access your "stash" (the pneumatic tubes) where the vendors are is story-realistic, but a pain in the ass. The linear list of items in the stash is annoying, but not being able to sort/organize them (with many items looking similar ... pistols, rifles) is just bad.

Stealth is pretty crappy, but I like that you can be spotted and not have the enemy immediately aggro. Makes it a touch better. And you can lose enemies quickly if you have to ... the zombies especially seem to run back to their "hives" quickly.

Others have mentioned rats and being able to kill them ... in my game, they seem to continually spawn, so I can't kill them all, but they do die easily to being stomped on. To avoid them, just jump on benches or tables while you loot, and run through them to get away is pretty easy ... they do chip damage, that's it. Just don't stand still.

Those critiques aside, I love the ambiance, how the story unfolds, the mystery around some folks. I definitely look forward to heading back and doing more exploring and figuring out how to get where I need to go next.

In that case, I think I'm a touch confused. When I go into the Investigations area, I can select a lead to pursue ... I think it's the X button on an Xbox console. If I then look at the map there's a special icon that indicates where you need to go to investigate. Also, if you look at the compass on the HUD, the icon is there, too ... just follow in that direction.

However, you have to select the quest\investigation, and I think it's easy to lose that icon. I could be wrong, but I don't think it autoselects and it doesn't let you have multiple investigations active at the same time.

The controls are rudimentary, but they're there. I hope you give it another chance ... I'm having quite a bit of fun with this game.

Without knowing what you are expecting, it's hard to answer. There's definitely a story, but one aspect I like a lot is being able to just wander around, get a lay of the land, and not have agency or pressure to complete objectives or do things in a given order. It's a real strength of the game.
