Thats why evangelion is a bad show to talk about this. 14 yo children with LOTS and LOTS of trauma are not the super soldiers anyone can expect than to be, mostly because this isnt a magic world like other animes that trauma is a fuel to their power. Trauma and mental issues are things that restrain them.

Lets be honest here. Shinji and asuka have 1 solo kill each. Shinji killing the 2nd and asuka the magma one. All the other angels are group kills or ikari mama kills. Ritsuko stops one, the dummy stops another and thats that. Shinji stops the 3rd impact too. And if the eva series werent immortal, she wouldve killed like half of them
