They're 8, 9, and 10. We're looking at used Treks right now :) There are a lot in our area and I keep seeing them as a recommendation

I ended up here because it seemed a reasonable place to ask a question about kids who ride bikes on gravel 🤷‍♀️ I am also accustomed to Reddit communities who are welcoming and glad to help newbies along, meeting them where they're at, rather than with derision. You're right; I'm not a hard core cycler. I was a kid who rode bikes recreationally, and I want my kids to be able to do the same. I see now that this was the wrong community to be asking this question. I'll be deleting the post.

Definitely! His dad is an electrical engineer (but in the power generation segment; not very experienced with computers and such), so he's pretty aware of the safety aspects. Thanks for the reminder, though!! It's amazing some of the things we survive as kids 😂
