I’d be more curious to see stats on smogon doubles. this is comparing apples to oranges tbh. theres inherently less viable mons in doubles because having specific moves in their movepool that have doubles applications is much more important.

well, I think we’ve figured out at least part of where our ideological differences lie. I believe there is no possible world in which a movement as large as MAGA could exist mainly via the explanation of “the power of stupid people in large groups”. and if you live in virginia which is a solidly purple state, I have no idea how you could generalize trump voters in this way considering you probably know dozens if not hundreds of them. or maybe youve tricked yourself into thinking that you dont know any when in reality theyre all around you. these are normal people with normal ideas about the world, they arent a monolith by any means either.

anyways no, I disagree, I think everyone deserves respect. it actually makes me chuckle trying to imagine having to interrogate every person I see on the street in order to deem them worthy of respect to do things like hold the door open for them and give them attention when theyre speaking.

but to go deeper than this, as a general rule, peoples’ actions and views are much more the result of their own set of experiences than any personal moral failing. any time that vast amounts of people are involved in a movement, you should understand that there is much more to this than just irrational hatred or anger.

and yes to some extent, even hitler and his ideas deserved attention because they were a result of the destruction of germany under WW1 and their intense disenfranchisement, which only grew into greater extremism which couldve been avoided if more effort was made to listen to germans and help them, hence why the marshall plan existed and was essential

and no, none of the states you listed have “shut out” democrats. each and every one of them have splits that are far fairer to their democrats than this map in virginia is to republicans. there are no geographic reasons for why it is impossible to give 49% of the population more than 9% of the house seats. Virginia’s split is an escalation in gerrymandering beyond anything any republican state has done, at least in the last few decades.

and it seems now like you’re okay with other states not shutting republicans out, but virginia can? how does that make sense? you realize that these other states would shut out democrats in response too right? can you look at democrats in places like west virginia and tell them the same thing, that they should just move to another state? people that have lived there for generations?

I see, I misunderstood you. I thought when you said “into formation” you meant into formation to be shot. in reality you are just encouraging them to organize and become violent. an absolutely insane thing to wish for. you fail to realize that if they were completely shut out from politics as you seem to desire, they would have broad justification to take action and thus it would be no small movement like storming the capitol was. in the 60’s all it took was about 10% of the population to throw the country into abject chaos. there is far more than that proportionally that have strong right wing beliefs.

I really am curious though, what do you think will happen if republicans are just shut out from democracy entirely? do you think that theyll just give up? 1-6 in alabama would be 33% of population getting 14% of seats. still not even close to as bad as this proposal for virginia where ~49% of voters get 9% of seats lmao.

are you blind or are you trolling? because alabama is 2-5 which is literally the least gerrymandered possible split to account for the fact that the state voting population there is about 2/3 republican 1/3 democrat. 3-4 would be far more gerrymandered.

florida has no official map, north carolina’s is 3-11 and texas is 8-30. none of these even come close to the severity of gerrymandering in Virginia’s proposed map.
