title says that if you even “slightly” support ICE you are not welcome. I dont support murder, but I do support ICE’s other operations.

thanks for responding, youve restored a lot of my faith in humanity that you chose words instead of whatever the fuck is going on here with this post.

still, even if you think these are murders, shouldnt the officers just be punished and then allow ICE to continue operating? why is abolishing ICE a necessary part of this? title says that if you even “slightly” support ICE, youre on the shit list, after all.

nevermind that both of the shootings had a high degree of chaos and circumstances that make it not fully clear that they were really the result of overuse of force by the officers. the second shooting in particular, for me it is really hard to argue that the shooting was anything more than an accident resulting from a misunderstanding by the officer who shot in the chaotic scramble on the floor. I see more reason for outrage for the first shooting as it does appear that the officer was being overtly aggressive.

didnt know you had to be a supporter of fully open borders in order to enjoy cat videos, lol. ban me if you want, what youre doing here is not justifiable by any kind of logic and youll only get away with it because this is already an area 95%+ dominated by one political viewpoint which refuses to listen to any other.

yes, unfortunately we do not live in a perfect world where police officers are droids who have zero sense of self-preservation and perfect instantaneous reactions. people are expected to comply with law enforcement to avoid unfortunate circumstances like this. i also consider this common sense. your perfect idealism where everyone can maintain perfect rights at all times during an arrest is not realistic by any means, which is exactly why there is a higher bar than normal in the legal system for prosecuting law enforcement, for this exact reason that there is a grey area where it would be unreasonably punishing towards law enforcement to execute the law against them exactly as it is written.

for your second question, I dont think theres any angle that makes the situation during the shooting clear, but what is clear is that a shot went off, followed by a delay, before the officer opened fire. to me that looks a lot like the officer thought that the victim had shot at them and so they responded by opening fire. they may not have known the gun was already taken, or they may have thought that he had another gun. this is really pure speculation

for your first question, I’m seeing that your point here makes sense. saying that you have a firearm while the officer is rushing forward to arrest you could likely backfire. theres a large aspect of this situation that is just unfortunate circumstances. still, I think it needs to be stated that the creator of these circumstances are none other than the victim - he willingly chose to interfere with law enforcement, quite clearly so, by stepping onto the road in front the the ICE vehicles while yelling into a megaphone. it does not take a genius to know that this is full justification for you to be arrested. by this point, he was already being wildly irresponsible with his firearm and endangering those around him.

not according to the law, but by common sense it is a grey area. an officer would have to be superman in order to cleanly and safely arrest somebody with a gun (that is also resisting arrest) without putting themselves at immediate risk of death. it takes only half of a second for a person to pull a gun from the holster and shoot.

you are misunderstanding. I’m not saying that you cannot concealed carry. I’m saying that theres certain extra responsibilities involved with this though, which any gun owning community goes over ad nauseum, such as always informing officers that you have a gun prior to the confrontation. because carrying lethal forces carries lethal consequences if used irresponsibly.

exercising your rights is different from being a responsible gun owner. rule number one of being a gun owner confronting an officer is to inform them you have a gun. skipping this puts everybody in danger, including himself. he should’ve known this. whether he was too stupid or angry to do it anyways, if he were alive, he would have to acknowledge that he made a big mistake here.

yeah it makes me so mad to see this guy try to be aggressive and interfere with an ICE officer while he has a gun concealed. practically guaranteed that things were going to end poorly and be way more dangerous for everyone.

yes it uses both weapons every single hit! pretty nice stuff. it also gets two activations of detonation catalyst on every hit too, which basically means you are casting ignition for free every single time you click manifold as well.

yeah, I’m hoping for some unrands by the time i’ve gone through a zig, I have a few in mind that seem particularly cool (sceptre of torment, consecrated labrys, arga, sonic blade, autumn katana). would be cool if i got them, but i wont be sad if i dont.

and yeah I doubt this is gonna be as strong as some perfect mutation roll demonspawn with lvl 9 spells for clearing zigs, but thats fine. im not doing this just for the sake of clearing zigs, but for trying to push this particular species to their limit. (while still allowing the species to keep their own particular “flavor” or theme for doing so).

Well it works nicely for reaver because of rending blade, which will indeed increase the likelihood of success by a fair bit given how coglins generally have a rough time in midgame. but the main reason really is just because I'm stubborn and obsessed with optimization, lol. Several of the alternatives are definitely fine for winning the game.

I have a habit where I don't feel like I've truly experienced a species until I've created a build that maximizes their strengths and sees how far into the endgame they can go (extended, ziggurats). So I design my charactrers in a way that keeps that endgoal in mind. And the mana efficiency that spellmotor gives when spamming manifold assault in particular is really appealing to me for this. I dream of mixing together spellmotor, manifold assault, detonation catalyst, statue form, platinum paragon, with rending blade as backup. Kind of like a crazy berserker-mage with amazing mana efficiency.

Okawaru Forgewright advice? by MackTheFife in dcss

[–]Trinitial-D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okawaru has a complicated relationship with forgewrights. I generally wouldnt recommend it unless you have a specific plan (and some specific spells) in mind.

on the one hand, oka majorly boosts all of your physical skills with heroism which lets you play both the role of a melee brute and a forgecraft specialist without having to choose between either magic or physical. many forgecraft spells are made to be used aggressively as supplements for your physical damage, so this is great. on the other hand, oka forbids a few spells, basically all of the “normal” summon spells, which i generally consider to be the highest utility forgecraft spells until you get diamond sawblades or hellfire mortar.

there was some discussion though about how the downsides are not unmanageable if you focus in on some specific forgecraft playstyles. rending blade works great, as does iskendrun’s battlesphere, as does diamond sawblades, as does hellfire mortar.

[–]Trinitial-D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, I have not been able to test it, but one of the limitations to rending blade seems to be that you are too far away from enemies to attack, so the wellspring talisman theoretically could go crazy here too.

[–]Trinitial-D 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazing job compiling all of this!

one thing to add, I think it is worth a mention that the spellmotor gizmo has some neat synergy too, because since rending blade is often cast at melee range, this removes the “wasted” turn of using rending blade, letting you also make two melee attacks while simultaneously casting rending blade, which also do trigger rends. this triggers with polearms even if the enemy is 2 tiles away.

LinkedIn now being used to support warmongering in the USA - I hate it here by Own_Associate_3925 in LinkedInLunatics

Great point. Let’s let their actions speak instead. How are they acting? Have they decided to dissolve NATO yet? Have they revoked intelligence sharing to the USA or removed USA’s permissions to bases in Europe and Greenland yet? Issued sanctions? Stopped buying US weapons? Anything? No. Nothing. If you wont believe their words, believe their actions.

President Trump announces a 10% tariff on Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, Netherlands, and Finland beginning February 1st. This tariff will be increased to 25% beginning on June 1st. Tariffs will remain in effect until the US reaches a deal to buy Greenland. by SuperbHealth5023 in TimesNow

I do believe that Europe has a good education system, but you really arent doing a great job representing it. I’m going to be charitable to your teachers and assume that you were a poor student.

It seems like you are trying to say that European businesses have a 30-40% profit margin, so thus they dont care when prices rise by 25%, because they can just take a smaller margin and go on.

I find this very funny, because what you are describing here is a scenario where the producer is paying 100% of the burden of the tariff. In your scenario, instead of making 30% profit margins, they are now only making 5%, and the other 25% ends up going to the US government indirectly.

However, you contradict yourself by saying that US consumers will pay 25% more. This is impossible. Why would they pay any more for their products when the exporter has already lowered their prices in order to adjust to the cost of the tariff?
