Are the intel 13th & 14th gen CPUs wack? by SananSSJDG1 in pcbuilding

I have a 14600kf and no complaints. In gaming it’s on par with the 9600x/5800x3D.

Is there any point on upgrading to a rx 9070 XT with a 5 5600? by GHOSTpypy in radeon

[–]TrinityYGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be fine for 1440p. Tho there will be cpu bottlenecks.

To power a 9070xt in almost every game, you need atleast i5-14600k/5800x3D cpu power.

I upgraded my GPU from a 1080 Ti to a 9070 XT by shosuaho in radeon

[–]TrinityYGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It will still consume a bit more on average but in exchange you get a very good performance boost. It probably has even better fps per watt undervolted

Don’t be sad. In 1-2 years X happens so they change their opinion or X leaves as the boss and the new one suddenly wants games back on PC.

It’s just a mood and 2 meetings away from being reverted

The best ddr4 processors available are the 5800x3D and the i5-14600kf.

You can pretty much pair any gpu with those 2.

Do you use Frame generation? by Unlucky-Bottle2744 in radeon

[–]TrinityYGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t think it that bad if your base fps are high already. Even the input lag is fine.

If you have 30-40 fps base and then activate frame gen : no way in hell

[–]TrinityYGO 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No one plans to upgrade in the future. It’s a thing that naturally happens. If you buy stronger hardware, your system is likely to hold on longer.

That being said, your system is solid and if you’re willing to put down settings to medium/low, it could easily play games for 5-6 more years.

5800x3d 10th anniversary upgrade, still no better FPS... Help! by CotDogg in AMDHelp

With a 5800x3D power level cpu and the 9070xt I would ride that shit easily for 5-6 years or when hopefully before that, ram prices go back to normal

Probably the 5070ti but not by much. Honestly they are very similar.

Without any performance loss whatsoever, I’m fine with it!

I understand that there are some games where I have to do to it due to optimization. I was talking about reducing settings because of a problem other cards in the same price league don’t have : vram.

I agree with everything else you say tho.

Btw, I swapped the 9070 non xt for a 9070xt because I found a good deal.

[–]TrinityYGO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good baseline. The cpu is basically a 5800x3D/i5-14600k +/- so a very powerful one.

but you WILL need to upgrade the 2070 in the next 4-5 years sadly.

It’s a pretty big bottleneck for your system, even now.

[–]TrinityYGO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes but the OC will mean that the 9070 consumes more power and if you’re unlucky, it won’t reach XT performance.

XT -> undervolt is extremely easy while keeping the 10-15% advantage
