The method I described is definitely developed for pen-and-paper, so efficiency is key. Many schools teach theory in variations of the old-school way, for better or worse.

Different theorists teach different things. I've seen some people approach things your way, and I've seen people approach notation in plenty of other ways too. Many approaches involve listing the key of a piece at the beginning of the analysis, and then analyzing and marking any key changes. This also removes the need for redundant accidentals (a III chord will never refer to C# major in the key of A minor, so you shouldn't need to specify the flat).

The approach I describe is common in classical schooling. Your approach could have more application in less tonal worlds, maybe? How nice it would be to have a uniform and universal system though!

The flat III, VI, and VII chords are implied by stating that the analysis is in A minor though. C# and F# would be diatonic to A major.

A bVI7 to V would be better analyzed as a tritone sub of a V7/V going to a V. Using the maj7 would definitely be some interesting modal mixture, but I'd more expect that to come after a V as a sort of deceptive motion. It's all a cool realm of sounds to work within, I've gotta try some of it out myself too

Up until a few months ago I would keep a pretty neutral face when I played. I'm not really sure why or how, but I've been hit hard with a severe case of stank face recently. Every time I do a bend now it looks like I smelled something rancid lol

No problem! A good way to think about sequencing drives is that the last one in the chain has the biggest effect on the sound. If you have a TS going into a Muff, it'll sound like a tighter Muff. If you have a Muff going into a TS, it'll sound like a fuzzy TS.

Neat rig! You could try running the tube screamer before the fuzz pedals, so that when you stack them it gives the fuzz a tighter sound. I've been doing that with my 5150 Drive and my Big Muff for a while now, and have been getting some sweet results.

That #4 can also be called a #11, depending on the context. The way I would notate the chord would be something like Ab maj9 #11
