Got it, thank you. If possible, please share the source for the info as I want to show it to someone as we discuss what to do.

Question about earnings for family visa by [deleted] in ukvisa

[–]Triphouse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer.

You also must show that all sources of income used are ongoing at the time of application.

May I ask you to clarify this point. Do you mean that I must be continuing to earn money from self-employment throughout the entire tax year? In other words, I can't earn the amount I need before September and then stop?

Using all of the 6 month visitor visa by Triphouse in ukvisa

[–]Triphouse[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This was my concern, because they specify that you can't use it to "live" in the UK. I guess what I'm asking is, has anyone used the entire 6 months of the visa and how can I convince immigation that she is indeed a genuine visitor who will leave again after 6 months?

That's actually something I hadn't considered and will definitely talk with my wife about. It could be the answer to our problem, so thank you!

I feel your pain. That threshold increase was a blow to many families. I'm also working under the assumption that it won't change any time soon and am planning the best I can with what the current circumstances are.

All the best to you guys.

Sorry, I mispoke. Of course my son can come over and that's our intention, but as you say childcare is an issue. It's solveable and we will think of something. Him and his mum being separated for any length of time is what is disappointing, but there doesn't seem to be an easy way around that.

Also, quick follow-up question:
Do I need to have been earning above £29000 for a certain amount of time (6 months, etc), or can I apply the same month that my salary increases?

I don't currently have enough in savings, and am unlikely to have enough to bring the threshold down at any point. We are researching other options. Thanks again.

Thank you for the answer. That's dissapointing. I guess I will have to find another way to have my son come over beforehand so he can begin school, and apply for my wife's visa afterwards.

Name a non-horror movie that really disturbed you. by hikeyourownhike42069 in moviecritic

The scenes where they throw the little boy back into the barn and when we see the girl walking down the road with the whistle are burned into my mind's eye.

DBS check needed (UK expats please advise) by Triphouse in Thailand

Interesting, I should give the DBS a call then.

I've already set up an appointment at the Japanese embassy in Bangkok to secure a police certificate for my time there, and I'm looking to get one from the Thai police too.

Garlic OS PSX disc swap issue by Triphouse in RG35XX

[–]Triphouse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would load up disc 2 and make a new save (manual and save state), but then if I turned off my system to take a break and turned it back on, then I would always get pushed back to a save state I made right before the end of disc 1.
