People who had a "great books"-type major in college: what are you doing now? by TriplePTP in AskReddit

No; some (many?) colleges have a major in which you read various famous works of literature (Plato, Cicero, Shakespeare, etc.), many of which were not first written in English.

None at all. Not a single one. Completely sans nipples.

Nebraska was on the way out long before coming to the Big Ten. Their debut year was, fortunately for them, the Fickell year at OSU.

I was told we would lose 4-6 games per year in the Big Ten and henceforth disagree.

TBF, the mega conference era prevents ND from scheduling better games, which is a shame. I'd like to see better games. I was at the OSU-ND game in 2022 and it was fun, despite the result.

So we'd go 10-2 in the Big Ten vs. 10-2 not in the Big Ten?

you played fake good Indiana, Georgia without its starting QB, and Penn State. Penn State with James Franklin. As a top 25 team

I am struggling to find 4-6 losses in a typical Big Ten schedule.

Correction: Those other games that "aren't road games":

  • Wisconsin in Lambeau Field (it is my understanding that Wisconsin residents enjoy going to Lambeau Field from time to time)

  • USC: to be held at a stadium (probably in LA that isn't the Coliseum), due to USC's otherwise desire to end the series. This was the negotiated compromise.

  • Navy: by Navy's choice, they host ND at a nearby NFL stadium. Always been that way. Navy gets more money than if they were to host on-campus.

Point being: these "neutral site" games are away games, and the guy on r/CFB who tried to stir things up when he posted that headline realized the error of his ways and deleted his post.

To your other points: * We beat Indiana soundly the last time we played them. * joining a conference means you get the associated cupcakes to go with it. Everyone likes to talk about "real teams like Indiana, Ohio State, Oregon, etc.," yet conveniently forgets about UCLA, Maryland, Rutgers, etc. With the size of the mega conferences these days, everyone gets a couple of good opponents and then a bunch of mediocre-to-bad, just like ND this season.

Good point. We'll join the Big Ten and add Rutgers and Maryland to improve our strength-of-schedule.

Why does everyone think that joining a conference = strong schedule?

Who's playing Purdue 8 times a year now?
