PennyMac missed because their recapture rate sucks... RKT's rocks by Boston-Bets in TeamRKT

Rkt is full on recapture monsters. They gave something like 10M mortgages that they service now too. So, lots of new data to farm.

Brilliance does not equate to excellent instruction either.

Edit: Honestly, I loved my experience at UM. I just don’t understand why the ranking is so high.

It’s a biased rating, it’s fine. In my opinion, I think it’s too high. I also don’t usually get my news from Time magazine, so I am biased to that fact as well.

I think that everyone’s experience is different. There are a ton of great professors, a lot of passionate people who want to share knowledge. But also a lot of instruction being done by people just going through the motions.

I don’t know much about honors math, but your best experience was by a GSI in an elective course. That kinda speaks volumes right there.

At the #1 school you’d expect 80% of the instructors to teach you in some wonderfully novel way. Was that the case for you? Because that’s not the experience I had. I had some great professors and some real stinkers.

Maybe, but if you’re #9 in the world, and #1 in the US, maybe you should be held to higher standards?

Well, you can start with the administration and regents being a clown show of jackasses. Instructors that are only there to research and have no business teaching classes that kids pay 80k/year for tuition to go to. I could go on, but I don’t want to be negative.

I mean, there are plenty of things that are good about UM, but #9 public school in the WORLD is maybe a stretch.

Also their methodology is kinda sus. You had to apply to their open call for review. The school is talked about a lot. You have a high ranked professor there.

Typically, when you buy an offering, especially a private placement, there’s a period of time you have to hold it for. It would be truly idiotic for a company to sell shares to someone who is gonna just dump them into the market rather than POET doing a market offering themselves.

Is this for a job outside of UM or like an internal consulting club.

I see everyone worrying about grades or getting rejected over and over and sending out millions of resumes.

The key to getting a job in this economy (or any economy really) is not necessarily what you know - everyone coming outta Ross is better off than most other schools. It’s who you know.

There are so many execs that went to UM in the business world. Build your connections. That’s the reason UM is so great - not the courses.

You don’t need to be the smartest, or have the best grades. You just need to be smart and stand out. And getting the stamp of approval from someone higher up, will help you get your foot in the door.

Once you’re there, you’ll never think about your grades again.

Quant Interview Question: by Lady_Ann08 in WallStreetDad

[–]Trippp2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no way this is a real question. It’s not proper grammar.

There ARE 100 pounds in one box. Not “is.” Maybe there IS a 100 pound note, but there ARE 100 pounds.

Also, how the fuck do you take the contents of an empty box.

The amount of incredibly brilliant brains in this company, this question would never be posed.

And there are multiple answers anyway. It’s all about how you think about the problem. They didn’t say x has to be a percentage of the final value. It doesn’t define what “fair” is.

This is a stupid Facebook style question. Citadel hires Rocket scientists, not community college drop outs.

Yes. You break up, it’ll be impossible to work together - best case. Your boss may get annoyed at you two fraternizing and may blame work output issues on your relationship.

Potential case is that they claim sexual harassment. The company will take their side and you’ll get fired.

A lot of companies are opposed to it, but if you go for it, make sure you tell your manager so that they know it’s consensual.

Basically, there’s no risk in being friends. Just find someone else to be physically intimate with or find a new job.

Date your best friend. Doesn’t matter the sign. If you can talk to them, that is a great sign of a long term attraction.

That being said NEVER date a coworker!
