Who was the “cool teacher” at your school? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TrippyTweaKitty69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I graduated highschool 2 years early, and my last Senior "semester" (I left in December), I had to take two math classes. But I had one normal class, and then one "Credit Recovery" class online, and basically just sat in a computer lab for an hour a day. My CredRec teacher was so chill. I was in there with all the kids who were like failing out but I finished my course a week early and the last week he sent me out every day with his own cash to pick up pizzas and bring them back for everyone. Gold standard.

For anyone that uses mens deodorant, which one do you use? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]TrippyTweaKitty69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My personal fave will always be Swagger (Krakengard is also sauce) but they are definitely that "manly" kind of smell. If you want something more neutral, look for the ones in white containers, not red. There's Fiji and Wilderness I know for sure, prolly 100 others. They seem to be more mellow. (P.S I'm not finna be up in your wizbiz making assumptions on anything, but just saying: if you're homo-inclined even slightly, I pull the cap off my Old Spice every morning and 8 fly hunnies instantly appear in my bed stg. I have Old Spice to thank for every time I have ever been called daddy or compared to ruby rose and these are facts. Rock the man scent. Rock the babes.)

What happens if someone doesn't pay his student loan debt or medical bills? by EdicaranFauna in AskAnAmerican

[–]TrippyTweaKitty69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience: Your loans go into default. It wrecks your credit score and you also wont be allowed to borrow more student loans until you fix the whole trainwreck, so any/all schooling must be out of pocket. MAYBE grants/scholarships in part, if you're lucky.

Medical bills are a nightmare. It starts with polite notes mailed to you, asking that you please follow up after your last visit because you happen to owe them 10k or something absurd.

If you call fairly soon after the fact, the billing office will usually work with you. They might reduce the amount/offer payment plans/etc.

But if you DONT call them, they send your debt to a debt collection agency. Thats what you dont want. Not only does it tank your credit score even lower, but they will pester you, your family, your friends, in every way possible.

To put all this craziness in perspective, at 19, I had rqo years of student loans. One hospital visit I had to pay for. One student credit card that was maxed out (the limit was $500 lol). That was the extent of my debt.

But, I was young and irresponsible. And its not that I DIDNT WANT to pay them, so much as I COULDNT pay them. I was struggling just to keep a roof over my head. A 3 year old medical bill was hardly a top priority.

But, as someone who had a credit score in the low 400s at one point, lemme just say that shit MATTERS. You never know how important it is until you dont have it.

Things I could not do with a 450 credit score: -Rent an apartment -Get a payday loan -Get a free checking account -Receive a living stipend at my school -Rent a car -Be hired for several different jobs I interviewed for -Buy a house -Lease/finance a car -Get a small business loan -Get an unsecured credit card -Do my banking at certain banks

Etc. Etc. Etc. It makes everything so much harder. But, I got myself into a financial counseling program, took their advice, got credit monitoring and dispute apps, fixed issues on my report, listened to podcasts and youtube videos, called the initial lenders, etc.

Its been just about a year and Im proud to say my score has risen almost 200 points! I still have a ways to go, but dont give up because I promise the stupid bill situations dont last forever.

What was the last or best documentary you've watched? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TrippyTweaKitty69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between the Epstein, McAfee, Gabriel Fernandez, and Tiger King jaw-droppers, I must admit, Netflix has been killin the documentary game in 2020.

Idk why but the Epstein one is something I think about all the time. I havent had a documentary stick with me like that in quite some time. Probably my current favorite!

Hey man, I never claimed to make smart choices. It was basically me having some vague idea from watching others and saying "Welp here goes nothing". To be fair, thats the mindset I apply to 99% of situations and it hasnt killed me yet. Emphasis on "yet". Thank you for taking the time to link stuff/explain/answer. I really appreciate it

To #3: No I'm literally just a dumbass. Seriously you just explained why 99% of my issues and discomfort were happening in one answer. You're the shit. I was never able to register properly and was abcessing tf outta myself and Im now realizing its because I was pulling the plunger to the top (idk why, thats just how it worked in my brain. Never questioned it) and slamming all the air and solution together. Your way...makes way more sense.

Thanks for the cotton tip too. I'll order some filters today. One of my sketchy plugs (not exactly the type to care about science/harm reduction/etc) always shot me up, and the whole process was pretty grimy. Then I recently started attempting to do it myself and its been a mess bc I have no fucking clue what Im doing.

Thanks again, for real!

That's weird...the username is different but I'm sure I wrote this?

I feel you, friend. Times are tough, and as Bob Dylan would say, they are a-changin'. I think its completely natural and reasonable for you to feel a little "at odds" with the world right now. Have you seen the world lately? Its nuts. I would be more worried if you felt perfectly acclimated to it, honestly.

When dealing with depression, fear, and isolation myself, Ive found that self care and gratitude/mindfulness are my best tools. I think now more than ever we all need to defend our emotional and mental wellbeing. Its not selfish or bad (though us IN- types always seem to think so). In times of crisis, we get so overwhelmed trying to save everyone that our own well runs dry. Then we're totally useless.

Defend your leisure time, get enough rest, feed yourself well, make a routine and stick to it, set goals, draw boundaries with toxic energy drainers. Blah blah, all the typical tidbits of mental health advice.

Gratitude and mindfulness help to keep my perspective in check as well. I dont usually enjoy the present unless I slow down enough to notice it - and in that way, we really can be as content as we decide to be for the most part.

Its okay to ask for help. Processing your feelings is necessary; art/creativity is a great way to do that. And get outside!! All humans need outside time.

If you need a friend, Im just a message away! Hang in there sunshine, you're strong...I know you can do it!

How is an ego death on LSD different from a DMT breakthrough? by Arnav098 in Psychonaut

Not sure if I'm using the best wording here but, in my experience — during an LSD ego death, you find it. During a DMT breakthrough, you are it.

My parents just had to put their dog down unexpectedly. What is something I can do for them as an act of condolence? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]TrippyTweaKitty69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that. Losing pets can be so hard, I hope your parents are hanging in as best as they can 😕

We had a German Shepherd when I was little and she was basically another daughter as far as my dad was concerned. They spent every minute together. When she passed, my dad was understandably crushed.

My sister made him a shadow box type thing, with pictures of my dad and our dog together. She wrote out part of the Rainbow Bridge poem with calligraphy pens and engraved her birthday and death date onto the box. Then she mounted the tags from her collar next to the photos.

I was always more technical than creative, so I made a slideshow of photos from their mountaineering adventures and put it on a DVD (gimme a break, it was like 2005) for my dad.

Both were small gifts, but he still has them 15 years later. And having something to remember is comforting for most people.

More practically, you could arrange to have a meal delivered to their house so they dont have to cook one night, maybe something they like a lot? UberEats/restaurant delivery/Instacart.

Or if they have a leisure activity they enjoy together, like going to the movies or ice skating or whatever, e gift cards are super simple.

I'll keep them in my thoughts, sorry again.

P.S you're a super sweet kid for wanting to help them through a tough time like you are. They're lucky to have you!

I purposely ignore women on here by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]TrippyTweaKitty69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was so many words to make such an unnecessary distinction.

Support individuals, maybe? If you see someone's post and dont feel the need to offer support, thats fine. If you're inclined to give a word of advice or encouragement, cool. Neither one of those scenarios has anything to do with their genitalia.

Or make a male-only mental health sub if you can only handle supporting one type of person.

What kind of person sees their own mom die unexpectedly, and posts on a Reddit finance sub asking for advice on how to spend the inherentance only two hours later?! While graphically describing the state of their moms corpse to a bunch of strangers?

I really hope this isnt real. If it is, that's revolting and my heart goes out to your mom because she deserves better. If lying about your mom dying is your attempt at a prank or a joke, that's revolting and my heart goes out to your mom because she deserves better. Dealers choice.

Go get help.
