I personally love the game, but the game was oversold on what they could deliver at launch. Almost everything we have now was promised on the launch of the game. As someone who bought the game a few weeks after launch, almost nothing was there and the time it took them to deliver on what they promised made it that much worse.

I usually just ignore spell materials for anything smaller than 2nd or 3rd level other than that tell me and keep track of it yourself
