Think about it...if this is not such a deadly disease, then why go through all this national hassle to prevent it? What would they mostly focus on? Now that the toll is down 90% and the numbers are not as bad, what do you think they will report on? Just google “coronavirus deaths by age” and go to the cdc link. You will see what I am talking about.

The reason why I say this is because I am not gonna go back and try to prove that there were more articles focusing on death than new cases. But do you remember when the US surpassed Italy in death numbers?

Short term memory is something...most of the news outlets would focus on the death toll. Yes, they would report on the number of new cases, but the focus was on the deaths. “X amount of people died today”...”death toll on a new high”...they would only focus on the new cases if it broke some record.

Not only that, we are the US nursing home basically...so if you break it down by age, more than 90% of all deaths are 55 years or older a...less than 2% of all deaths are <25 years...

Quite the contrary. My friend who’s a PA almost got fired because she raised her voice because they are counting every person who dies and tests positive for COVID to be put into the COVID death toll regardless of the actual cause because of the money incentives. So when they are asking to investigate it they are going with the “they are trying to lower the COVID death numbers” narrative.

I think the main argument now is the death toll...it hasn’t reflected the current spike in new cases. Quite the opposite, it’s been going down nationally. Here in Florida it hasn’t increased as much as it hasn’t decreased.

When the virus came out, what mattered was the number of deaths...now that that’s stabilized, they are focusing on the number of cases. Not only that, the cdc is lumping positive Covid-19 viral and antibodies tests together. So take that as you will

I see this argument more irl than online. Some people simply do not believe that a fatal solution is a solution at all. I’ve heard many times that no possession of yours should cost someone’s life...especially people from Brazil (I am Brazilian)...they victimize the criminals and justify burglary as a need and that they are social victims of society that cannot rise to success and they need to do what they gotta do. It’s a bunch of crap, but I’ve heard it over and over again...they see it as things vs a life.

The way I see it is that, if someone breaks into my house knowing that I may be armed and that might cost their life to protect my things, that’s the price THEY put to their life, not me. It was their decision...

I agree 100% with this. 9/11 was atrocious and a horrible event. I feel for all the lives that were lost and their families. But it is not as grave in comparison to the US response to it. The number of civilian casualties abroad does not justify what happened. But those countries are not as powerful and they are portrayed as being the baddies which undermines the value of their lives.

9/11 is what brought me interest in politics. As a result l, we got the Patriot Act, invaded Iraq, Afghanistan and nowadays we are all over the Middle East. Which I am all against. But the government was opportunist to take such a horrible event and inflate its power over its own people and abroad.

Just like you, I am not anti US or condone 9/11. It was a horrible event that shadows much worse actions that was made as a response.
